Did You Move Today? Monday May 14
Morning Everyone...............
Looks to be a cool day here at the beach today. But...that just makes our workouts more enjoyable. Right?????!!!!!
So, what are you doing to move today? Me? Running. My goal this week is to add .25 miles to my run so I can end the week at 3.75 miles (consistant run) and do a 4 mile next weekend (as my long run).
Yesterday, I ended up doing lots of stretching. My body just felt like it needed it.
Ya know...this whole goal thing got me thinking. When we establish a goal, we often reward ourselves for meeting those goals. So....what's YOUR reward?
I like to give myself weekly and monthly rewards for working out consistently. And, of course, food cannot be the reward.
Normally, I give myself a few new downloads for the Ipod each week, and a new workout outfit each month (hey...if I have to workout, I'm going to look cute doing it!). And with the weather getting warmer, new workout stuff is GREAT! But...I think I need a change. Definately, something to think about.
So...what is YOUR reward? What will you do for yourself next week if you meet your goals this week?

Hmmmm..... I'll have to think about the rewards and get back to you. I hadn't really thought about that one other than knowing that I'll be buying myself a lot of new clothes in the future. I like your workout outfit idea.
As for exercise. Today, I walked the dog so far. I need to clean my house and then do my kickboxing dvd. So I will definitely meet my goal today. My kids gave me a really cool exercise set for working out in the pool that I can't wit to try out, but it needs to warm up a little for that.

Hey Ladies! I ended up finding a pedometer for 4.00 clearanced at TJ Maxx and I really like it. I wanted an arm band, but didn't have the time to find one, but I think this one will do just fine. I'm not exactly sure how I will get my exercise in today, but I'm definitely walking during lunch because I need the numbers to get higher. I'm only at 0.12 mile this morning, hehe! I really need to go to my gym and walk on the treadmill. So that's my plan, we'll see if it works out that way. I met my goal yesterday and then some, so I'm happy about that!
As far as reward goes, I don't know. I'm think if I make my goal I might go down to the Heritage and get a 1/2 hour massage or something. It's only 35.00 or so. That would be a nice ending to the week!

I did my 30 minute cardio express workout this morning..Made me sweat!!! hehe..this evening I will be walking my 3 miles...I met my goal yesterday plus some!!! woohoo.
Hmm a reward. I don't know what I would reward myself with, I will think about it!!..Maybe save up some money and get a nice hair cut or buy myself something like a new pair of walking shoes..mine are getting worn out..LOL

Hi everyone,
I just had to add this because I am so proud of myself. I just completed my entire kickboxing dvd for the first time EVER!!!! Was it pretty? - no, but I did it!!! There are 2 sections that have some really hard moves in them that I could not get my body to do when I was 40 pounds heavier, but today I did them. There is a lot of room for improvement in the moves, but I did it!!! Woohoo for me! The whole dvd is 50 minutes long. The most I had done before was 30 minutes of it. One of my goals of surgery was to be able to complete the whole workout; so I guess I can check that off! Now I can't wait to do it again tomorrow!
