Sentara Hampton anyone?

I'm new here (first post) and just today completed an initial informational seminar at WLSC in Newport News. Dr. Terracina will hopefully be doing my lapband procedure. I was hoping to read some reviews of Sentara's facility but have had no luck finding any! It doesn't appear that I'll have any insurance issues or release issues due to other medical problems, so I'm reading all that I can. There are plenty of success stories here! Hi Susan- You will LOVE Dr. T! I'm one of Dr. Clark's patients and have heard VERY good things about Dr. T as well. The whole staff at WLSC is great, too. Nancy is a GEM! As for Sentara.....I received very good care there. Suzie is AWESOME also. She is the one who does the support group meetings and is in charge of the patient ward. She WILL come and see you as she makes it her personal mission to meet/greet every loser who is rolled in her doors. And if you have any problems with her staff, she wants to know. But, I would be surprised if you did, as they are wonferful. Just remember, you are going to feel like cr*p and may be a bit emotional or take things too personal......DON'T! They WILL come and tell you you have to get up and walk around. That is their job and it is for your benefit. Just rememebr that. They are not picking on you or being ugly. Good luck! Hey there!!!! I too am one of Dr. C's patients. Dr. T was coming on as my surgery was being done. Knowing Dr. C's track record and how the girls in the office take care of things, I am positive that Dr. T is just as awesome a Dr. as Dr. C is. Sentara was great. They have their own wing (something) for wls patients. My nurses were great and friendly and my husband even stayed the night with me the two nights I was there. I was there for only two days and nights. AWESOME!!!!! I hope all goes well for you and if you have any questions feel free to ask away!!! DeeDee

Wow! Thank you so much for the information. I've been "lurking" around, reading as much as I can, and it sounds like Sentara CarePlex has come a long way since it opened. At this point I've passed the psych evaluation and my cariologist has verbally okay'ed the surgery. Am waiting for Dr. T to review my record and call me for an appointment. I'm getting so excited I can't sleep!!!! It's crazy, but all I read are good results and happy campers that have had the lap band. But I digress. Hi, I am one of Dr. T's patients and had my RYN at Sentara Careplex.  Beautiful, clean, nice hospital.  Great staff...Susie is the best, if there are any problems in the hospital, she is the one to get it right.  Dr. T is terrific, I have been nothing but pleased with him and his staff.  Good luck to you in your journey!
