Looking for Staunton-area support group

I'm moving to Staunton in July and I was wondering if there are any bariatric support groups in that area. I'm 6-months RNY post-op. Thanks.

Hi, Kim! I think I am one of 2 staunton people who frequent this board. We don't have a support group here at this time, but you can go to the one at UVA (I think), and we have frequent Meet, Greet, & Eat get-togethers in Charlottesville. Hiya Kim I live in Staunton and am currently pre op and hope to have surgery some time this fall. There is a great support group at UVA Medical Center that I go to once a month, every second Thursday. Its only about 30 minutes away if that and its very helpful even pre op Also I am sure Melinda aka Miss Prissy will give you all kinds of info about the Meet and Greet that usually take place in Charlottesville that a bunch of us get together and talk about everything and anything. Hi Kim Im from Charlottesville and head up the Meet & Greet & eat as the rest call it. We are having a small get togeth this Sat. 19th here in c'ville if interested email me @ [email protected], but like Joann said we do a monthly meet of the FFP's (formerly fat people) thats our name cute huh. Joanns gaughter created it an we voted on it. But we would love to have you Sat. I have a few new ones joining post-and pre ops welcome. June's date hasnt been announced yet but will be in the next few weeks. Welcome to our area and hope to meet you soon. And oh yes UVA offers a support group it meets second Thurs of each month @ 6:00 when you email me Ill give you an email to contact there phyic. she will add you to the mailing reminders.
