Hey Nat! Glad you brought this up, its nice to see where everyone is. I know that I've done well but I'm totally discouraged again. I guess its because I know that I'm doing something wrong, I just need to pinpoint it. I started at 300 pounds, my doctor's goal is 178, my goal is 169. I'm almost 6 feet tall so any less than that and I'd be a rail. I think that I look good where I'm at and could be happy because I'm healthier and I'm doing so much more than I used to. I just keep seeing everyone get to onederland and the century club that have had surgery after me and I think what the heck is wrong with me? I know we're all different and it will happen eventually but my sick brain still thinks that way. I'm between 201 and 204, bouncing up and down. 99 pounds gone! I have no more high blood pressure, I have MUCH more energy, I have more confidence, and my skin is holding up fairly well. I know it could be a lot worse. I've truly been blessed. I just need to quit comparing myself to others. I know that some of the other people that I'm looking at who started way after me are not doing it the healthy way. I do know that I'm eating the right things, I just might be eating too much or at the wrong time, or not exercising enough. I'll figure it out! I use my fitday every week day. Enough babbling!

You are not babbling .. WOW .. 99 pounds that is freakin Awesome . I know first hand how great you must feel .  And yes , if you start comparing yourself to others , you tend to get into lows .. but each of us are different . Take each pound lost and own it as yours . In your time .., in your space .  Once you figure out what works for you , you will continue to be successful . It was not done overnight for any of us . I am still at 3 years out .. trying to " Figure this Out " at times .  Just keep it real ... and know that with each day you are your own success story .  Big hugs .. and keep us posted .  Natalie

You are 100% right..I did this for my health..looking skinny is just an added awsome benefit .  the hardest thing I'm having now is they said 1000 calories a day and 60 grams of protein..Protein is no issue getting a 1000 cals a day is a BIG one..Im just never hungry..I am still battling just to get my water down. I know part of my depression is probably playing a role in it but I hope the meds they gave me for that kicks in soon. I tried the support group here..but to no luck it never got off the ground.

Hey Nat, It's Corinn. I had my surgery Dec 19, 2006. I am a little over 5 months out. I have not had any problems. Cross your fingers. I am sooo enjoying life. I am still a bus driver for the Va Beach city public schools. That is even easier now. I weighed in at 163 this morning. I started at 245, so that's 82 lbs gone for ever. My personal goal is 130. I have no clue what my dr wrote down for a goal. I went shopping today and put on a pair of size 8 shorts. I don't ever remember being in a size 8 anything.....except maybe when I was a girls size 8 in grade school. I am so glad to see you back. Take care. Let me know about the next get together. Maybe this summer I can come up north a meet everyone. Corinn

Hi Natalie, First, let me say that I am glad to see you back!  I am so very sorry for your loss of your mother.  I know that you have had a rough go of it lately.  Please know that we are here for you! Second, here's my update.  I finally had surgery on March 21st.  I did great - no pain or anyting.  I have no problem getting in my protein and water.  I am exercising everyday for at least 30 minutes - usually more than an hour though.  I no longer have high bllod pressure or high cholesterol (so no more meds!).  My ankles are not swollen any more (well, the left one swells a little at the end of the day, but no where near what is was before).  I have dropped from a 22 to a 16 (almost a 14 in clothes), and I have lost 46.2 pounds in 9 weeks.  I am still running my video production business, but have recently started a new job as a teaching associate at Eastern Virginia Medical School and am also volunteering at the Virginia Zoo as an assistant zoo keeper.  Life is good - no, it's better than good - it's AWESOME! Thanks for all of your support and wisdom and kind words over the last several months!  You amaze me with how you are always there for everyone even when you are suffering yourself. Thanks Again, Robin 243/197/130
