It wasn't meant to be afterall

Ok ..well as most of you know medicaid approved my abdominoplasty,,however, the surgeon i saw is no longer participating in Virginia Medicaid..So now I sit here approved for this through my medicaid and have no surgeon.  I have called everywhere looking for one today and now it's over it seems.  Even the surgeon that was going to do it...that i liked ..i am now hearing bad things about.  So even if he decides to participate...i wouldn't have him do it.  So here i sit no worse off than i was before..but in tears because it was so close!  It just wasn't meant to happen..so I am giving up.

Oh, Judy, I am soooo sorry to hear this!  I know this is breaking your heart!  Can't medicaid give you the names of surgeons who do the surgery?  I am also confused as to why the surgeon submitted for approval with medicaid if he did not accept it.  That seems odd to me.    I hate to hear that you are giving up.  I bet someone with more experience with Plastic surgery can give you some advice.  You've come so far and you deserve this, please don't give up; you have fought through everything else - don't let this kick your butt!  Have you thought about traveling elsewhere in Virginia to have the surgery.  There has to be a good surgeon someone in Virginia that accepts Medicaid.  I'm going to keep praying for you, so please don't give up! ~Robin

I'm with Robin on this one.  This makes no sense.  Why would he submit for approval if he did not accept Medicare. Well....everything happens for a reason.  BUT.....do NOT give it.  It just means that the reason is that you are to wait a little longer and find someone that you are totally in tune with.  So....GO FIND THEM!

Why in the world would you give up ... ??? You know now that Medicade will approve you .. Now .. it is going to be up to you to restart the ball ... it may take a little longer but it will be so worth the wait .  Get your butt up ... go to the computer and start looking for other PS ... there must be some in Charlottesville .. Tough love here sweetheart .. Do you know how many people fight to get PS after extreme weightloss ..? Thousands ... many of us have to pay as I am doing .. and you have insurance that will take care of it .please do not waste this chance ...  I want you to start today to look for another surgeon .. and get this done .. you will feel so much better ...  One thing I must tell you in all of this .. DO NOT EVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF ... or anything that you truly want bad enough . Oh Judy this stinks.  Definitely remember that everything happens for a reason.  If you are hearing bad thngs about your surgeon and unsure about using him, there is your reason.  Don't give up.  Definitely start looking for the right surgeon.  We are here for you.  :) Courtney

Please don't give up......I know what the dream of wls means.....You can use you knowledge to help me...I can't afford insurance and can't afford self pay.. I need the surgery real bad due to health issues....What are the stipulations to medicade and where do i start?...Please keep the faith and never give up...I am pullin for you. Judy,   I would definitely try here at UVA.  I hear they have a wonderful plastics team.  Dr. David Drake's office is who you should contact.  Don't give up!
