First full day home from the Hosiptal!
Hard to believe but I'm actually part of the"losers club". Many thanks for all the good wishes (thanks Ann for posting my update).
Came home yesterday from my RNY and felt like a million bucks...today, it's more like a buck and a half.
The gas pains last night and this morning were incredible and I couldn't even keep im the morning protein shake (it came back up a few hours later). Called Dr. A, he suggested an "intimate moment" with some Fleet - and that seems to have helped a bit. The Percocet doesn't seem to agree with me, so I'm waiting for him to call in something else for pain. Other than that - I'm still so happy that I took this step toward a new life. I know this is just a small bump in my road to a new, healthier life. I still hoped to feel better since it's my "real" birthday too!
Any suggestions on the gas pain would be greatly appreciated. I'll just keep sipping and walking and expect that "this too shall pass"...sorry - bad pun, but the Tylenol liquid pain medicine is starting to kick in
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!
Hugs,

Welcome home!
I had a nurse tell me in the hospital that the longer I was on pain meds the longer the gas would stick around (simple explaination...the meds keep the body asleep). I was having trouble in the hospital passing gas (both ends! haha!), so I stopped hitting the pain pump and walked a bit more....and it worked! Gas started moving! SO...if you can stand it, start to back off the pain pills and walk a bit more.
Best to you. Dr. Anez and crew will take good care of you!
