Let's Lighten the Mood Shall We ?

Yes, there have been several tragedies the past months , however ... we are a great network here .. so let's have some fun on this Terrific Tuesday .  What I want you to do is tell everyone .. you most embarrasing moment ... and your greatest wow moment .. no matter if your pre-op or post op   Let's Lighten the mood .. and have some fun with our stories ... so here is mine ...  EMBARRASING MOMENT  To have the kids at my daugthers bus stop call me fat .. and made fun of her . I felt so bad for her .. and she stood up to them . I will never forget it .. now she talks about it and says .. Dang Momma .. they need to see you now .. ! WOW MOMENT  The first time I fit into a size 4 Jeans .. I ran out the dressing room door .. forgetting where I was .. and almost ran out of the store .. tears streaming down my face ... once I told the lady why .. she was calling off the pooolice ... and they all cheered ..  So Tell me yours ? 

I haven't posted on the VA board in a while, hope all of you are doing alright. Embarrassing Moment Bar none, my most embarrassing moment was when I sat in my parents brand spanking new porch chairs and totally collapsed it.  They were gracious, but I was mortified. WOW Moment I was able to walk to the top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse two weekends ago.  I never could have done that prior to surgery.  What a difference a couple of months make.  I'm so excited.

Okay so my most embarassing moment isn't exactly weight related but here goes.  I had met a cute guy in my college class a few years back, we were talking about working out and he got me a trial membership at his gym.  As we were doing our cardio on the tread mill, I grabbed my towel and went to wipe my face, closing my eyes in the process, well closing my eyes made my feet stop working and on my butt in the floor I went.  So my best wow moment happened over the weekend.  I was painting my kitchen and my mom came over to help.  As we were painting she said to me "you have really come a long way baby.  Did you ever think you would have even tried to do something like this on your own or that you could do it.  Before if you had even tried you would have given up, in tears, saying you were stupid and couldn't do it.  I am so proud of you."  I hadn't really looked at the changes in myself in those aspects but seeing it through her eyes make a big difference. I also had another wow over the weekend.  Last night while sitting on my sweetie's lap, out of no where he just stood up and picked me up, carrying me.  It was just so amazing.  I have never had anyone just pick me up on a whim.  I felt so tiny & delicate.  :) Courtney

Hmm let's see, I don't usually post often but I like this thread :) Embarrasing moment, would have to be having my legs in the air at the wonderful girl doctor, my first time ever going last year, the doctor looked and looked and finally said I dont have the tools to work on someone your size :( not a happy camper Wow moment, well I am pre op so don't have anything too exciting, but if I have to think of something I guess would be now that I go to the gym and swim I breath a little bit easier :) Hopefully after surgery I will have more wow moments Take care

Most embarassing moment us actually sad. When my daughter was in 7th grade her friend was over and told her 'your Mom is fatter than I thought she was".  I was in tears when my daughter told me this. WOW Moment- In the past 10 days I have lost 4.5 lbs prior to my surgery June 6th!

Embarrasing moment, which one to choose!  One that really stands out is one day myself(a big girl) and a coworker(a real big girl) went to pick up lunch for several people.  We went to this buffet where you could pick what you wanted and then pay by the pound.  Well, we had several trays that we were making all at once, and this rude man said to the people he was eating with,man, look at them go!  I was so pissed, but just let it go.  I do not have a surgery date yet, so my before WLS WOW moment would have to be the day I decided to finally take the step and begin the process of WLS.  I know before this year is out, I will have a few WLS WOW moments to write about!

My most embarassing moment have to have been when we took the kids to Six Flags 2 yrs ago. My step daughter wanted me to ride a coaster with her. We stood in line and when we got in the cars, I was getting stuck as I sat down. I jumped and ran crying all the way My WOW moment happened last week. I fit into a size 8 shorts. I was giggling so hard my friend asked if I was ok.
