Hello Everyone, I haven't posted in awhile I hope everybody is doing great. I was going to post this under Ms Court's "Newbie check in post" but decided to post this seperate. I am having a problem liking food. Everything that I eat I don't like it. It is like I don't like food anymore. Is there something wrong with me? have anyone had this problem as well? I mean I could be hungry and I take a couple of bites and I am like spitting it ou t because I just don't have the desire to eat any more.  Now when when it comes to drinking, I can drink all day and don't have any problems with that at all. There is nothing wrong with you at all, Mo.  Lots of people struggle with not having the desire to eat anymore after surgery.  Some people spend quite a bit of time forcing themselves to eat.  The motto is not you eat to live not live to eat.  Here are a few tips I found helpful.  Make sure what you are eating is flavorful, try not to constantly eat the same thing day in & day out, try new things.  I have been really surprised about the amount of things I never used to like that I really enjoy now.  If all else fails, keep using the protein to supplement as you work through this.  :) Courtney

Hey Mo, I have been going through the same thing.  Nothing really tastes good at all, and so I don't want to eat.  I do make myself get my 60g of protein per day most days, but that's it.  I am drinking water like crazy though and taking my viatmins.  I am not too worried about it because I figure that I am supposed to learn to listen to my body, and right now my body is not hungry very much.  It will let me know when it is time to eat more than I am.  Keep up the good work! ~Robin

Hey Robin, First let me start by saying that you look so good. Your picture is nice and you are doing such a good job. The eating is the hard part for me right now. I am getting in my protein and my vitamins so I am not going to worry about it to much. It is just weird to see how I am eating now then before surgery I was eating like I was having my last supper at every meal. Mo

Awwweee Mo, Thanks so much for the compliment!    I am feeling so good getting this weight off and getting back to ME.  You are doing a terrific job too! It is weird to sit down to a meal and put such a tiny amount on your plate and then push most of it away, isn't it?  Last night I made spagetti and turkey meatballs for dinner.  All my kids and hubby raved about them.  I had 1 T. of sauce, 2 T. of spagetti, and 1 turkey meatball on my plate.  I couldn't even force myself to eat half of it.  It looked and smelled delicious, but when I tried to eat it, it just didn't taste good.  So I ate what I could and fed the rest to the dog.  It amazes my family too.  They are used to me piling my plate high with food, eating it all, and coming back for more. I guess we'll get used to it over time, but in the meanwhile, I am just enjoying it.  I feel so empowered to be able to push away a plate of food or look at a chocolate cake and not even feel like I want it.  I am in control now, and obviously you are too!  Keep up the good work, girl! We'll get there! , Robin

Hey Mo, I'm with you.  I'm only a week out and I have no interest in food.  I'm told that it's normal so I'm just following the nutritionists guidelines and "eating by the clock", making sure I get my protein and liquids in, along with my supplements.  I've always LOVED spicy foods and have found that if I spice up some of what I'm eating (but, not too much spice) with some of my fave spices/sauces it helps to at least make food interesting.  Hang in there...before long I expect food will hold more appeal to us!   Continued success to you!!! Hugs, Chele

Hey Chele, I was just like you in the begininng. I did not have a taste for food. When I started with solid I was eating a little more. Now, it seems like my taste buds don't work anymore. I am not going to complain to much. Good Luck Mo

Hey Christine, I am learning that about my stomach now. I just eat when my stomach want something to eat. I am just going to try different things that I have not tried before and do like you said. I going to do my protein and water. Mo
