I am actually having problems with eating.  I don't feel like eating and sometimes the thought of eating makes me feel ill.  I am 1.5 yrs out from surgery and didn't think that I would have a problem with food.  I have had this fear that I would go back to eating a blow back up!  It seems that I can stomach the protien drinks, but the vitamins just want to bounce.  Coffee is my friend.  Anyone have a problem like this?

Hi Tracy, I to don't like food that much but I know I have to eat. That is why I sent this post to get an idea of what everybody is eating. I hope this post will work for you.  Like they told me here on the board make sure you get your protein, water and vitamins in if you are not eating much Good Luck

Hey Mo, I'm nearly three weeks out so my intake is somwhat limited, but here's my basic day: Protein shake first thing in the morning - with my am meds - during my walk 2T cottage cheese, a cracker and 1T applesauce for breakfast A diluted mix of OJ/water mid morning 2T hummas or tuna or shrimp salad with a cracker and strawberry for lunch Sometimes I have cheese and a cracker instead Protein shake for a mid-afternoon snack 1 ounce ham/chicken (ground up still) with 1T carrots and 1T applesauce for dinner Snack in the PM is either protein pudding or popsicle Not terribly exciting, but it works for me - I don't yet know what hungry is and I really don't have an interest in eating...I just eat by the clock because I have to.

On a usual day..... 7am---Protein shake - 65gm, coffee w/sweat-n-low 10am---1-fake egg stuff w/sprinkle of fine shredded cheese, sprinkle of Real Bacon bits -  cooked in microwave, one piece of whole grain toast 1pm---cup of homemade bean soup, more like stew 3pm---coffee! 60 calorie yogurt, hand full of  wheat crackers 7pm---canned protein shake - 35mg, plus a bite of two of whatever is in the fridg. That's about it, lots of green tea and water during the day. Sometimes its hard to get all that in, in one day!

My Lord, Tracy, I am so jealous! I am having the opposite effect. I want to eat all of the time and fight every day like I did as a fat person. I am okay with Protein and Vitamins. Fight not drinking wine and hate exercise, even though I stick with it daily. 1 year out April 12th. That mind game is hard to conquer..Stick with it...I am sure we will both get through it...remember the beginning? Sue Baker, Fredericksburg

O - don't get me wrong - It's not easy sometimes!  I have found out that I can eat hard candy and got into a rut about a month ago and was eating it all the time.  Until I realized that I was packing on the weight that way.  Since then I have made it my goal to cut sugar out.  Right now I don't miss it.  Then with the summer now, I found that I can drink wine coolers and they taste great!  But - then again - those are two hundred calories a pop!  I try to keep my meals at or under 300 calories at a time.  You got to get to a mental point that this is a tool and an opportunity to really make "dieting" work for you.  You really don't have to fight with the "hunger" part, just the mental part.  Which is easier said then done!  Have you tried writtng EVERYTHING that you eat and drink in a day and keep it up for at least a week?  Its amazing once you start looking at it that way.  Just some of my thoughts, give me a shout if you ever need to chat or anything.  We need all the support that we can get, the other people in this world just don't understand what we have endured and the journey that we are on.  It's like they don't get it.  I have one advantage, my husband had the surgery one year before me!  He was the guinney pig!  So we really don't eat much at all.  We are constantly reminding each other....."now why would you eat that.....what purpose does that food have?  Any protiens?"  Stuff like that helps.
