Breathe Deeply

Ok - I do not mean to offend anyone with this.  I use to smoke myself, and when I received this, I thought it might be helful to someone thinking of quitting. Breathe Deeply

It’s not news - we all know smoking is unhealthy. But, did you know women are 1.5 times more likely than men to develop lung cancer? It is also important to remember that smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke not only causes cancer, but emphysema, sleep apnea, asthma, and worsening of allergies. Yikes!

Some More Darn Good Reasons to Eliminate Your Exposure to Tobacco Smoke…

  • Smoking ages the skin, so quitting will mean fewer wrinkles.
  • Women who smoke have a greater risk of infertility, miscarriage, premature labor, still birth, early neonatal deaths, earlier menopause and osteoporosis.
  • Smoking while using oral contraceptives increases your risk of heart disease and stoke by ten times.
  • Quitting also reduces your chance of getting cancer of the lung, mouth, larynx and esophagus, and other lung diseases.
  • Arterial disease is also associated with smoking and kills more people than cancer.

Thanks for a great reminder of all the reasons I quit smoking about 7 years ago!  I am so glad to have put all those health risks behind me and my family.  Besides I love smelling my perfume now and NOT dirty ashtray odor.  Anyone out there trying to quit - it sure isn't easy, but so worth it in the end.  Good Luck to you! And Tigger, Congrats on quitting!  You're doing great ! Keep it up!  If you think you want a cigarette - just tell yourself over and over that you are a non-smoker and then don't have one.  That was how I finially quit.  I visualized myself as a non-smoker enjoying good health and shopping for clothes with all the money I wasn't spending on smokes.  Good Luck! ~Robin
