Good Morning all,

I am feeling kind of down this morning. I had my surgery on March 2, 2007. I read a lot of  different post here on the Virginia Board and some people that had surgery around the time I had mine is well under 200 lbs and doing very good. I am stuck at 210 the scale is just not moving for me. I have been doing my protein, water, vitamins. I am not as active as I once was but I do walk 30 min during the day at my lunch hour. Then I jumped on the scale this morning and I have picked up another 3 pounds. My next appointment with the surgeon is on July 6, I want so bad to be 200 lbs at my next visit. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG????  Someone please advice me to what I should be doing. Todday is not a good day for me Montego

Mo, I have been on this road myself and still am.If I go back into the november board and look around most of them are sitting about 30-40 pds lower then me. Everyone of us loose diffrent. I  have noticed also alot of them started at a lower weight then I did. Some people's metabolism just works faster. As long as you follow your rules of your pouch from your dr it will come off in due time. I follow myself in this journey ,for if I compare myself to others I will fall.(not saying I love hearing about others I just don't compare) Watch your depression as well,I have been dealing with it for sometime and am now on meds,I'm not out of it yet but it has made a little diffrence. I wish you the best on YOUR Journey..

Mo, First off , I must tell you to stop being depressed .... get out all the negitivity right now . You are a survivor and you are a success ! You are doing NOTHING wrong . You are now at the point where your body is saying .. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING TO ME MO ??? It is questioning everything that is going on and is trying to figure out why the drop in calories.. etc... This is merely a stall and nothing more . You can stop the stall by several ways.  1. Up your protein ... add another shake  2. Add more time to your exercise .. you must move to lose!  3. Add more water ...  PROTEIN + WATER + EXERCISE = WEIGHT LOSS  I would also ask you to stop comparing yourself to others . You are MO and so different from everyone esle . Your body is going to do what it wants... and if you give it what it needs to fuel the motabolism .. you will surely see the scale move again .  I hope this helps you ... if you have anyother questions on motabolism and protein .. email me and I will send you some really got literature .  Be Strong !  Natalie

You know I always delt with comparing myself to other people and I know I need to stop. People that I know and don't know. I know that we are not alike. This is a bad habit that I know I really need to work on. Please send me the literature on the matabolism.

I am going to do better. see I get on that scale every morning and it gets depressing when it doesn't move like weeks. I will try and do mean try to get on once a week. It can be so addictive to get on the scale. Thanks Tink for your tough love I really needed to hear that. I hope that things and going well for you since have your surgery and being in the hospital. Can't wait to meet you. Mo

I hear ya girl!   I'm frustrated as all get out! Since we are doing what we are supposed to be doing,  we  just have to be patient and take everyone's word that it's just a plateau and it should start moving down again soon, right?! Your screen name brings back some memories for me. I worked for Air Jamaica reservatoins for a couple years when I lived in PA.  I've been to Jamaica many times and had such good times. Thanks for bringing back good memories! xo Joy :-)

Hey Mo!  Good to "see" you this a.m.  Sorry to hear that you are feeling down today.  It is so common to compare yourself to others and feel like you are not keeping up, but we are all different and we all have different journeys.  I used to get so mad because I would lose so slowly, my nut said to relax that it was actually healthier for me and here I sit 1 1/2 years later a little bit below goal.  I do have some suggestions for you.  First of all your gain may just be water retention due to a couple of different factors.  1st of all is it that time of the month or close, have you been outside a lot in the last few days, have you eaten a lot of salt in the last few days.  These are all factors that will affect that 3-4 lb gain.  I would bounce up and down through out the month all the time.  Also with the heat increase lately you may not be getting in enough water.  Try to add a bit more if you are sitting right near the level for the day.  You are probably in a stall right now and your body is adjusting to all the changes, make sure to keep track of your inches & how your clothes fit.  I always found that when I wasn't really losing, my body was shifting big time.  You are at a point to where your calorie levels may need to be increased.  Check your intake (use a website live fitday.com or such) and see where you are, then check with your dr. or nut to see where you should be.  All in all keep your head up, keep working on it, and keep doing the great job that you are doing.

Thanks Ms Courtney,

I know we talked about this before. I just didn't think a stall would last so long. It's like the scale is not moving. That is another problem I am so addicted to the scale. I am going to need help for staying of the the dnag on scales Mo
