a.m.--GNC protein (vanilla) in coffee w/half and half 10:30--1/2 peanut butter and banana sandwich on 100% whole wheat noon--2-4 ounces cheese, and a slice or two of salami/bologna/pepperoni/lunch meat. 2 pm--fresh fruit. Another protein drink 4 pm--2 sourdough pretzels and string cheese OR homemade turkey veg. soup 5:30 p.m.--beef & brocc. stir fry, on 2 tbs brown rice. I serve myself 3 heaping tbs, but usually feed the last 3rd to the dogs 7p--often a protein drink or bar. 9pm fresh fruit and plain yogurt w/splenda NOW--if I am actively hiking, which I have not done the past 2 days (frowny face), I eat another protein bar, dried fruits and a product called Chunks of Energy, which are TERRIFIC, pricey and carb heavy. If I hike 8 miles I can handle those carbs, tho. My downfall--no added sugar cookies and candy. I rarely eat rice, potatoes, bread, and almost never pasta. I keep the bread in the freezer and take it out one slice at a time. I have NO chips or snack type foods. Hope this helps, Lois

Hey Lorraina!  You are definitely not a failure.  By posting for support you are taking the first big step to making the changes you need to make.  You have been given some great advice, watch your calories, cut the bad carbs, go back to the basics all great suggestions.  When you get back to fitday, check to make sure you are getting in enough calories, if you aren't that could stall the weightloss along with not getting in enough protein & water.  Also are you drinking with your meals, not waiting long enough after a meal to start drinking, this could also be affecting your loss.  I still do the 30/30 for my liquids most of the time.  Snacking is not always a bad thing.  My nut. & doc. actually told me to snack because of blood sugar issues and not getting in enough calories to sustain me (I have two jobs and frequently pull long 14 - 16 hour days).  Look at your life and see if these are things that might be contributing to your issues.  Do you have long days, lots of activity, long commute.  You may not be getting enough.  I am 19 months out and this is a typical day for me, I can't handle eating first thing when I wake up, never could even before surgery so my snacking starts early. within an hour of wakeup - snack of nuts, piece of string cheese, or piece of jerky 1st 16 oz of liquid 9:30 - 10:00 a.m - breakfast, (omlette, oatmeal, yogurt, with fruit & carb such as whole grain/wheat toast, bagel, english muffin) 2nd 16 oz liquid 1:30 - 2:00 - lunch (left over meat, & veggies from dinner, sandwich on whole grain bread with fruit, maybe a salad with meat in it) 3rd 16 oz liquid 4:30 - 5:00 sometimes I have a snack (popcorn, string cheese, protein bar), sometimes I do a 4th 16 oz liquid here 7:00 - dinner - usually meat & veggies, with a small side of some carb, sometimes sandwich & fruit (when I am at my part time job), salads with meat, etc.) 4th or 5th 16 oz liquid 9:00 on the nights I work I have a string cheese snack & then finish my drink I don't necessarily follow this exactly every day and I do allow myself to cheat sometimes, I am not perfect.  Just remember that we are here for you and we will help out the best we can.  Call the dr. and make that appointment.  At 1+ year out there is probably some nutritional changes in store and you can talk to him about it.
