Has anyone here ever had a 2nd or 3 rd degree burn ? I go see the PS on Tuesday for my weekly follow ups . I want to have some med names to suggest to him .. not that he needs any... If you have treated a burn .. what did you use .. how did you take care of the wound .. etc ... Mine has turned black .. is about 3 x 3 x 2 . No pain as it is numb .. and watching for infection .. Any help you can give is appreciated . Tink

Melinda .. OMG .. I hate to whine .. and it seems like that is all I do lately .. I am so swollen on my right hip . It all started after he took out the dang drain ... I can hardly walk .. It has subsided some .. but it is so swollen . One good thing though .. My Alan went today and bought us a new bedroom suite .. with a very cushy pillow top mattress .. the one we have now is terrible on my wounds .. sometimes I sleep downstairs .. any hoo .. I am doing fine other than my arse hurting ... so when I say it is a pain in my arse .. I mean it .. LOL

Nat , I have dealt with third degree burns often,here are a few suggestions.. Vitamin E capsules..(the liquid kind that you can squeeze onto it) If infection has set in go to natural vitamin A capsules (do the same as the E,squeeze it on the area) If you can't get the vitamin A form then you can also use vitamin A+D combination As far as a prescription for burns this was givin at one time to me Silvadene it's a topical cream,this of course is for more serious burns. And there's always the old form of useing Natural Aloe..(not the kind in a bottle ,I mean buying a plant..lol) Hope something I mentioned will help at least a little,hope you feel better soon.
