Still new to all of this

I have posted a couple of times.  I have my first appointment scheduled on Aug 7th.  I don't know what to expect.  I know each person is different due to different insurances and all.  My BMI is now 40.2.  I have some problems like rashes, knee pain, trouble sleeping and other issues.  I have not been to a doctor about any of these issues.  Other than a bronchitis 2 months ago, I haven’t been to the dr (went to ob last month) in 2 or 3 years.  I am wondering if I should go to document these little things.  Or if it will look like I am just going to document them.  I don’t really have a primary care phys.  We have a PPO and I go to whatever specialist (when needed) I choose.  Does anyone know a good dr in the east end of richmond/henrico?  What can I expect to happen at my first appointment and what happens after that?  Thanks

Yes you should go to the doc. Depending on your insurance it may be required. Besides, you need to know you are in your best possible health BEFORE undergoing surgery.  While I cannot help you with a surgeon, I know someone on here will be able to recommend one. Other than that you can use the Find a Bariatric Surgeon at the left side of this page. Best of luck in your journey!

Hi, thanks for your reply.  After I posted, I realized it might seem I am looking for a surgeon, I meant I was looking for a PCP.
