Perspective & Reflection

"I've reached the age where its harder and harder to think of my body as a temple. Its more like a building project that got out of control."  That is from my daily calendar and its truly humorous and thought I'd share it. We have all (pre-op/post-op) have felt like our bodies are "projects" and so we have taken on this amazing journey so that we can know our bodies full potential and live our lives as we truly mean to.  I am as proud of my decision TODAY that I've had WLS as I was when I started the process almost 5 years ago. I couldn't have imagined my life would be so great but it is. There have been speed bumps, road blocks, rough, tough and sorrow filled days but there have been more and more days where I've been set free, walking down a path of happiness, along the way learning some of the most important lessons in Life and I owe much of this to WLS and the tool giving me my life back.  THE most important gift that I've received as a result of this and the absolutely amazing support system I've worked hard on and now happily have in place is .....T-I-M-E! I have learned a lot along the way and realized a whole side of Life and ME that I think I always knew was in here but I needed that little bit of extra push to wake me up so to speak. I know that God needs me here and I am getting more and more of His reasons why! Its a wonderful thing to KNOW I have purpose and meaning and I am blessed beyond anything I expected more and more each day. For those who are pre-op: its truly a tough journey but one of the BEST decisions you will ever make especially when it comes to improving your life. Its a struggle for many of you as things have been made quite a bit harder in order to get approval for surgery. Some of these changes are truly amazing and extremely beneficial while others are selfish/red tape filled ones. Regardless, for every set back remind yourself to find even more determination to change your life for YOU. Reach out to family and friends for encouragement, support and love!   For those who are post-op: What a journey eh? Even if you are in the beginning stages and even those like me who are years post-op its one of the most amazing paths we've taken and that we can share it together is truly amazing. It is such a blessing that even in our darkest moments there is light and I believe we are touched by the hand of God and tapped to share our journey with others. Could you have imagined any or all of this before surgery? It was a dream and one we've made come true.  I want to say THANK YOU to those who continue to support me and who are right beside me despite Life's ups and downs. I am here for you always. I am grateful and thankful for each of you and to those I've not had the pleasure to meet or get to know I am thankful/grateful to get to be a part of your journey even if its being supportive and encouraging here until we can come together! Know that together anything is possible! Another quote I read EVERY am!  "I still dont know the answer to all the "whys" that have churned up in my life, but I no longer need to know. Instead of questioning God, I've learned to search for ways God has used these experiences for good--to fine-tune us in our spiritual growth." Have an AMAZING day!
