I went to see Dr. Schirmer yesterday for my pre-op appt. I've had all my testing done and come through with flying colors.  My surgery is scheduled for August 1st.  So if anyone has any last minute advice please share, 'cause I can hardly think straight.

Oh my goodness you don't know how comforting that would be.  I don't want to impose on anyone but I would love a visit from people who have been down the road I am traveling.  It sure would make my hospital stay more comfortable. Thanks so much. Jackie

I know this has been a big decision and you will be nervous until the surgery. I am three months and a few weeks post-op and I know it was the best decision I could have made for myself. So many things are good now -- my health, my energy, and my self-esteem. So stay strong and you will be fine!! Just stick to what your doctor says to do -- chew everything really well - the hardest part for me so far -- and exercise. Good Luck!

Yes this was a very big decision for me, it took seven years for me to be ready to do this.  Now that I am so close to having the surgery, my mind seems to go blank at times.  I'm sure chewing is going to be one of my hurdles too, cause I am daycare provider and have to eat fast and when I can. Thanks for the advice. Jackie

Jackie Congratulations hon!  You day will be here before you know it!  A couple of things pop into my head right now.  First, hit that pain pump to keep your pain down.  Make sure to sip sip sip and walk walk walk.  Don't forget to have a pillow for your ride home, those bumps can be nasty sometimes.  Remember each day gets better and better.  I can't wait to see you posting your WOW moments and pictures and so forth.  This is an exciting time for you.  Even though you are probably having alot of mixed emotions right now, realize that those emotions are normal and will help yo u get through this.  Good luck and I will be waiting on you on the loser's bench! hugs
