Well Thursday is my big day. I am having hernia repair and Abdominoplasty done. I am so excited and nervous. The past month I have been stressed and suffered really bad anxiety attacks. My drs are telling me that I need to be stress free, thts funny...  It doesnt help when you dont have the support that you need. Dont get me wrong I have it from my family, just not my husband. He has not really supported me from day 1.  I need to find a good support group anyone know of one in my area?

I wanted to wish you well on your upcoming surgery! That is so exciting and you have done so well.  I had panic attacks in the hospital for my RNY surgery. The Dr. gave me Atavan. I don't know of any support groups outside of Portsmouth Naval Hosp. A group of us from Hampton Roads do get together about once a month. Just look for postings. Also Ladyrad (check out my friends) may know of a group. I know Judy B and Natalie will be able to give you lots of guidance and support specific to your PS. Check in with us when you are home.

You do need to be stress free . I had my TT back in April . My mom and sister where on their way to see me and they where in a terrible car crash . My Mom died 16 days later from the accident . I did not recover very well after my surgery and I ended up with my TT coming apart . I was very stressed . Not to mention , I am adrenal insuficient .. and cannot be stressed . I had no choice .  You do not need support from your husband . If he has not supported you .. he will not ..Look inside yourself for support as well .. you must love yourself .. and then others will follow .  Try to focus on your recovery and how great you will feel after the skin will be gone .  I am not familiar with any support groups in your area .. but this board is very supportive .. and they are very caring .  Remember ... life starts when you love yourself first .  Always,  Tink

My thoughts & prayers are with you.  Try to let the stress go, give it to God.  I believe Amber will be a great contact for support groups in your area.  Hopefully she will see this and post for you.

As a guy I am always saddened when I hear of a husband not supporting his wife. But as others in this post have said, God is with you and we will be praying for you. The verse that always comes to mind when I'm scared, Proverbs "Do not be afraid of sudden fear nor the onslaught of the wicked, for God will be your confidence and he will keep your foot from being caught." Thank you for your replies and your good wishes. I am sad to say that they canceled my surgery tonight, I do not know when they will reschedule. I will find out in the morning. Now my stress and anxiety kicks in even more.  Again thank you all.
