Did you watch Big Medicine on Monday???

Just finished watching this weeks Big Medicine ( I had to dvr it )...How terrible was it that the lady with the SERIOUS hanging skin problems couldnt get approved for the surgery...:( For those that didnt see it. There was a lady that had TERRIBLE streched out skin from losing weight with gastric bypass. When I say terrible I mean TERRIBLE! I would venture to sat she had well over 50 pounds of skin hanging off of all parts of her body. Her arms hung down to her midsection!!!! She was having problems with rashes, smells and infections from folds of skin. I can sympathaize with that because I too have some of those issues as well on top of my c section scar from 8 years ago and still on going where my stomach hangs over the top of the scar and so it has never been able to heal properly and continues to this day ( and I mean THIS DAY, as in NOW ) Opens from time to time. As far as I have been told by tri care I will be getting a tummy tuck doen covered by them do to the infections and openings I have had but I have to of course wait untill I lose a majority of my weight first. But enough about me...anyhow I just feel horrible for that poor women and I hope she's able to afford it and is on a future episode! Brandi~

I have to DVR most things as well, and saw the episode this afternoon.....and YES...how terrible she was denied from something she NEEDED......I was almost in TEARS! Uggh......I dont even know what these insurance companies are THINKING!!!  This episode made me madder than hell......umm.....MARK not taking things serious???  OYE.... This is why PS and WLS should be a package deal . My God .. if I wanted to change sexes .. I would get better treatment .. the counseling .. the hormone treatment .. and why yes .. a new member ..  Insurance companies look at PS as cosmetic .. anyone that has seen my before pics .. and my after pics of skin .. will tell you .. while I am tiny .. I hid a lot of skin .. it hurt , it caused rashes .. and burns on my skin .. and I was not able to get mine paid for . My TT is still up in the air with the insurance companies .. they paid all but the surgeon fee .. what gives ??  It amazes me how Medicare and Medicade are paying for TT and Panilectomys. I am not understanding their justification to the rest of the insurance world .  But if you can get approved go for it I guess ..  Maybe the woman needs to apply for disablity .. then maybe she can get her skin removed .. pretty sad I say .. the Ins companies are idiots .. protecting their money , while people like her suffer .  Ok .. done ranting .  Tink

HELLO ALL I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW I HAVE TALKED TO KIM AND AFTER HER SECOND APPEAL SHE WAS APPROVED FOR THE TUMMY TUCK IN SEPTEMBER..... SHE SAID NEXT SHE WILL BATTLE FOR THE ARMS BREASTS BACK AND THIGHS LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT HER EMAIL ADDRESS I WILL BE MORE THAT HAPPY TO GIVE IT TO YOU SO YOU CAN SEE HOW SHES DOING!

I would LOVE it. I felt so horrible for her and would LOVE to see how she's doing and Im so glad she was able to AT LEAST get the TT. Thanks so much! Brandi~
