Lucktong or White in Roanoke

Has anyone used Dr Lucktong or Dr. White in Roanoke, Va. According to their office, they both perform lapband and I should choose which one before my appt. Thanks All. By the way, I have new insurance that will cover the surgery.  So I'm on my way.

Dr. Lucktong and Dr. White are not the only ones in Roanoke.  There is another one sees patients out of that office.  His name is Dr. Bruce Long.  I have met Dr. Lucktong, I had a complication in the hospital and he was called in to concur on my case.  He seems very caring and knowledgable.  He would be a good choice but I am biased.  I love Dr. Long.  If you want to know more about him, feel free to PM me.  I would love to share. I called Dr Longs office and they stated that he does not do the lapband surgery. I'm leaning towards lapband. Am I reading your info correctly, have you lost 98 lbs in 9 months????

Yes, ma'am.  I sure have.  I love it!!  I haven't been this small since Junior high school!  LOL If you don't mind me asking, why the lapband?

Well, (from what little i know), it seems to be an easier surgery. I know you don't lose weight as quickly, but isn't  it more safe? I don't know all the facts, so I'm trying to get some opinions.

Why did you chose your surgery? Is there only 2 options... lapband and gastric? How did you do with your surgery..any complications? THanks

I am having surgery soon with Dr. Long. I was really impressed with him the first consultation...He took plenty of time with me.  I didn't feel rushed at all.  He didn't say I couldn't get the LAPBAND... but he did say I wouldn't get the results I'm looking for with the lapband.  He suggested RNY for me. Their office staff is great.  I'm in the Martinsville area.   Good luck to you!  

Hi there Dr. Lucktong done my RNY surgery on August 15, 1005.  He is a super surgeon and would recommend him highly.   He will surely let you know which surgery he believes you will benefit from.  I was so nervous with my consult with him, but he is so professional and answers questions and takes time with you and his assistant Jimmie, she is great and would be the one who sees you for the majority of your follow up appointments.  I was on his waiting list for quiet some time, but he was well worth the wait.  His office staff and Missy his RN..are absolutely very helpful and take the time to make sure you understand everything involved.    Good luck and I wish you much success. hugs
