Hello Lori My surgeon made me write a letter why I thought I needed the surgery. I also put in there, things I wanted to do...I am at a yr and 3 months, and have reached everything. Crossing your legs is a wow moment. What was the best, is I was able to hug my kids, and them wrap their arms around me, you should have saw their faces. Another thing is My hubby and I don't kiss like dutch people ( as he had it done too). When I was playing with the kids one day, One of the said something about my arms having wings, I took of running, yes, running after them, they couldn't even move, they were so happy and laughing so hard. Memories like this are great, and I hope you will have that chance to get those too. I love the fact that I don't sweat like I use too, am able to walk and not have any "out of breath" issues. Walk Walmart like I am running, fast paced, bc of long legs, and not have to rest. What a feeling. I wish you all the luck in the world. Have any questions, please ask. Take Care,

~Stephanie~

That is a great list Lori.  Write it down in your profile, add to it and then cross them out as you accomplish them.  I can remember the elation of crossing my legs, wearing my man's shirts & jeans (which are now too big for me), what it felt like when he picked me up.  Ahhh the fun of clothes shopping in the misses & juniors department.  My nieces and nephews absolutley love the fact that Aunt Courtney can run around and play so much.  It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to live and enjoy life now.

I'm sitting here with the biggest smile on my face because my legs are crossed UNDERNEATHE my desk! My legs actually fall asleep off and on all day because I can't stand them uncrossed at this point. It's a miracle. You will experience all of your list and beyond if you follow the rules and do what your surgeon/nut tells you. I'm a year out and have done it. It's amazing.

I think my favorite thing though is that my son runs up to me and he can put his arms all the way around me and wrap me up tight, it made me feel warm and small all over again!  No monetary value for that. Your turn will be coming.

I am six months out and I can jog!  Not far and not fast, but I can do it!  What an amazing feeling (I would used to have dreams where I could run and it would feel so liberating).  Shopping for petite sized clothes is like another dream come true.  I can walk downtown - to the shops, to the post office, to the library - and feel good.  My back, knees and hips have stopped hurting.  I can sit in a booth in a restaurant - comfortably.  Do I feel like a new person - no.  But I feel like the person I always should have been.  And it's pretty amazing.  :)

I love this post... I'm looking forward to getting a family picture taken. I refuse to do that now.
