I jumped on the scale this morning and I am back up to 202. I know that is normal and I am fine with that. My question is did anyone ever experience this? So far I have lost is 60 pounds and I am so dayum happy about that 260 was my pre-surgery weight. I was just wondering if this could be all that my body will lose. I am 5 months out now and I am starting to think that I might be finished with my weight loss. What do you think??? Mo

I highly doubt that you are finished losing.  The jump for a few days between the same 2-5 lbs is normal.  I can remember wanting to claim new loss but waiting til it showed on the scale for a few days straight because I knew it would bounce back and forth.  Just remember that you body needs a chance to catch up and keep up with what you know works for you and the weight will come off.

Thanks Courtney, the only reason why I asked that is because my surgeon at my pre surgery consult said that I could only lose 50% of my excess weight. So, this is what I was thinking,  that I have lost all that my body was going to lose.  Mo

Hey, Mo!  Yes, honey, lots of us have experienced what you are going through!  A lot of it, I think, may be water retension;  that can mess with those nasty scales! I started out at 240.  I am 5'1" and weigh 115 lbs.  I never intended to get this small, but my body decided this for me. You will lose more weight---don't worry!  What  other time did you drop 60lbs. in 5 months?  Make sure you drink lots of water, exercise, and eat lots of protein!  Remember those bsics! Lots of love to you!

Thanks Joann, Like I was telling Courtney, My Dr had mention something about excess body weight and that I could just only lose 50% of it. It just has me wondering. I wanted to know if anybody experienced getting under 200 and gaining it back.  Trust me I am so happy about my 60 pounds. I just don't ever want to see it again. so, i can say that is 60 pounds gone forever. Mo

I refuse to think you are done because where go you, so go ALL of us!   My doc's statistics also cite loss of 75% of excess body weight, but then I found out from my chart he is evaluating me against a "goal" of 130 #, which will never happen.  The nutritionist says 159; I'm aiming for 150.  So if I make the nutritionist's goal, I'll be at 75% of the doctor's "goal".  Goes to show there's statistics and there's dam*ed statistics! PS - I think once you make onederland, you get to keep the crown!

Mo, honey...you are still in onderland in MY book.  Like somebody already said...you get to keep the crown.  I believe Courtney mentioned water retention too.  Well, let me speak from experience...you'd be surprised at how much water you can retain.  I take 40 mg of lasix everyday to stave off CHF...it's not unusual for me to drop 5 lbs in a day just from peeing out the excess fluid!  So don't be discouraged.  You will continue to lose weight...you ain't done yet!  Jus****ch your portions, stay hydrated, keep exercising.  You can do it & we're all cheering for you!

Hugs!
Ann
