Hi there! I stuck to fruits and smoothie type things for the blender. For foods I just took tiny bites and chewed the heck out of them. Also, soft foods like applesauce, refried beans, peanut butter and the such were my friends.  Good luck!

I didn't do meats in the blender either. I did and do cook them in a crockpot. Chicken or a pot roast fall apart and are very moist. The ready cooked rotissiere chickens from the grocery store are also easy to eat--without the skin.

My favorite was beans & ham cooked in the crock pot and pureed cheeseburgers.  How do you puree a cheesburger do you ask? Brown ground beef (93/7) (like you would for spaghetti) but do it in the 1 - 2 oz serving size Add a half a slice of low fat cheese on top (or shredded cheese while you are cooking it) maybe a bit of ketchup and Wala!!!  a pureed cheeseburger. Mostly I just pureed whatever meat & veggies were being made for dinner that night.  I did use a little bit of gravy with some of the meats so that they were moist.  I ate regular tuna salad, egg salad, scrambled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, cottage cheese, grits, cream of wheat, etc.

With you being 2 days post-op I suggest that you not try anything beyond what your doctor advised. If you were a little bit further along I would agree with the "non-blender" comments above. Of course, you are lap-band so the rules may be quite different.

I put a small, skinless chicken breast and a tbsp of bbq sauce in the blender.  It was good enough for my two year old to eat (she has been loving all my pureed foods, though).  Once, I also did the bbq thing with a small, 93/7 ground beef patty.  It was a little dry, but it tasted fine.  I have also pureed the meat from a lean cuisine meal.  I think it was garlic chicken.  That was pretty good. The first week or two after surgery, I pretty much stuck to Carnation Instant Breakfasts (with powdered milk for more protein), oatmeal (add powdered milk), applesauce, eggs (add powdered milk) and refried beans.  I still eat refried beans with a little melted cheese and red sauce every other day.  But my sil was right...they are starting to get nasty. Good luck finding things that work for you.  I know it took almost 2 weeks for me to actually want food.  Just work on getting your fluids and some protein in.  If you can stand the taste of Carnation Instant Breakfast with skim and 1/3 cup powdered milk, that is 20 grams of protein per 8 oz.  I liked it better than that whey stuff, anyway.
