You are not stuck and try not to get discouraged.  Your body is going "Hey what is this lady doing to me? Is she going to feed me or not, let me adjust myself to this new lifestyle"  A lot of times during a stall or plateau that is when you start dropping inches so go get a sewing tape and take those measurements so that you can see the differences.  Those cells are starting to rearrange themselves on your body so look out for your clothes to fit differently.  These periods of adjustment can last anywhere from a few days to weeks and in some cases months.  Your situtation is also different because of having lap band.  My suggestion is to go to your month board as Christina said and the lap band board and see what the others have experienced.  I won't tell you to stay off the scale because I know I weighed every single day for the first year or so after my surgery.  Now it is about once a week or so.  But it definitely can be aggrivating.  Increasing your protein, water & exercise may help kick you out of it.  I know that I had a hard time with the water intake and found out early out from surgery if I was not getting or just barely getting in enough my loss was slower.  Keep your chin up, you are doing great.

Hey Courtney!!  I must say, the more I read ya'lls posts, the less discouraged I feel & the more understanding I'm gaining.  And about the clothes...girl, you are more correct than you may know.  Before surgery I was wearing size 22.  Today, after my shower, I was rummaging through my closet when I came upon a cute little ensemble that I haven't worn for at least two years. It was tucked way back in the closet.  Well, I thought what the heck...try it on, see if it fits. OMG!!  It fits beautifully!!!!  AND it's a size 18!!  So you MUST be right about the losing inches cuz obviously I have. Oh, funny thing about my shower...I FINALLY got all that left-behind glue from the steri-strips off!!!  Now that my incisions are healed, I could actually scrub a little harder with my scrunchie thingie.  I don't know...TMI???  LOL Can ya'll tell I'm feeling better?  I really am.  Besides all these small achievements, I also managed to find my shoes for the wedding.  Even my FEET have gotten smaller...hehehehe!  Who'da thunk it? So, I walked a mile in TJ Max today.  The big test will be Walmart.  I've been known to motor around that place for 3 or 4 or 5 HOURS.  I'm determined to NOT ride the cart.  So I figure sometime between today & Friday I shall see how I do. I will up my water (although I'm already doing 64+ oz) & up my protein & we'll see what happens.  Everyday's a new adventure, right?  Right! Thank you so much for your support!

Hugs!
Ann

Yep you are definitely losing those inches.  Now with the glue off you can feel clean and spiffy.  Get some vitamin e (either the capsules or some gel, I got mine at the dollar store) and rub it on those incision sites to help the healing.  Walk those stores lady and just be careful at Walmart.  Yeah on the shoes, my feet went from 8 1/2 - 9 to a 7 - 7 1/2.  It is so much fun to buy shoes now.

Ann - You are right at the 3 week period of body questioning the stomach: "OK stomach what did you do with my food?  If you're not going to feed me I better just go to sleep and conserve energy." Make sure you're taking in enough protein (you can increase it by decreasing non-protein intake - veggies, fruit, starches) and water.  All of a sudden, your body will come out of hibernation and reward you! PS - I weigh every day, too!

Hi Cleo!!  You're right...it's only been 3 weeks.  Plus I haven't had my first band fill yet.  That's another thing to look forward to.  Truthfully, all last week is kind of a blurr cuz of the problem I had with pain & the pain meds I was on.  Didn't move too far from the couch most of last week.  So I bet with the added "exercise", that hibernation may just come to an end sooner than I thought. I must say that after reading all ya'lls posts, plus being able to get into my size 18 outfit, AND actually walking over a mile, I am feeling so much better about myself. Ain't life grand???

Hugs!

I know exactly how you feel. It just seems frustrating when you are on a loosing roll and then you stop then you start again then you will stop. I am still learning to deal with it. I used to get on the scale everyday but it was getting so addictive so now I just get on once a week. The same day every week. It kind of give me something to look forward to. stay strong the scale will move again... Mo

We are all in this journey together. I sware I am here to help anybody, just because I know there are people on this board that is here to help me when I am in need of support. I am learning to stay stron as well we can learn to stay strong together with our journey. I live in Lorton, I guess you can say that I am about 45 min from Frederickbsurg (sp?).  TTYL...

Ann, I was banded a week before you and had hit a plateau on week three too.  Don't worry, this stall will not last.  As I have gotten more active (and upped my water intake), I have noticed a drop on the scale again.  It's much slower now, than in the first few weeks, but I can live with that.  I have lost only about 23-25 pounds, depending on the scale. Anyway, don't get discouraged.  Keep up with your portions and keep track of tha****er intake.  You will succeed!
