Hi Tiffany, I'm sorta new...I thought I wanted lapband, but now I'm leaning toward gastric. I have not even met with the dr yet, so I know I need to discuss with him. May I ask....Was it really bad? How bad is the pain? HOw long were you in the hospital? How are you feeling now? Thanks, Penny

Penny- I'm not Tiffany, but I saw your post and thought I'd encourage you to read my blog from last July (2006).  I had RNY and blogged my experience in the hospital.  The quick answer from me was...they give you great meds, and then once you're off of them you're doing ok. The first week is rough, but then it gets much better...by a few weeks out you're feeling back to normal, except for maybe the energy/stamina part.  As a frame of reference, I'm told that it's similar to having a c-section delivery....is that good or bad? I'm not sure because I've never had a c-section! I will say that it was totally worth the few days of pain for the results I've seen! Hope that helps...if you have any other questions, feel free to PM me or post a shout out.

Congrats on getting into two-underland!  I totally know that feeling!  I'm trying to get into onederland now...and I know I'll be twice as excited!!!  Keep up the good work!  As for water, the farther out you get the more you can drink at once...but be patient...you're still healing!!

Hey Baby Girl!!!!  You're in the 200s????  I am so darned proud of you!!!!  That's just fantastic. I would love to come visit you at the mall...an excuse to shop, right? LOL!  When are you there?  I'd hate to make the pilgrimage all the way from Middletown (hehehehe) & you not be there. As for me, I've started losing again so I'm excited for both of us!  Can't wait to see you in person.  I'm big on hugs, so expect one. See ya soon, sweetie!

Hugs!
Ann

Yeah Tiffany!!!!!  You are doing so great.  Back to work already, wow just be careful you are still healing.  Once you get further out you will be able to drink bigger sips/gulps, part of the reason you may be feeing nauseous is you might be taking bigger sips now than you really should.  My nutritionist suggeted getting one of the sports type water bottles with a sipper cap because they have a valve in them to limit the amount that comes out.

The water issue was one of the biggest for me too.  You will get there, it just takes time.
