Hi there! Are any of you going to the Casino Night event hosted by the INOVA Fair Oaks Bariatric Staff on August 25th? I think I saw Kathy (of Kathy and Rich) say they were going...just wasn't sure if anyone else was! I'm planning on attending...sounds fun. Let me know...maybe we can all meet up and play a game of cards together! (HA! I'd lose, I'm awful at cards!)

I was thinking of going as Bill will be in Switzerland - but I wasn't to make sure I knew if there was anyone else going too - I am allowed to go as a Dr Halmi /Dr Kreiger patient.... I am awful at cards too!! Jackie

Hey Ladies .. I will be down hosting the VA Beach Get together but this sounds fun ... please take pictures so you can share here . I have a question fo either of you . I just found out some disturbing news about my office .. Commonwealth Surgeons .. do not know how much truth is in it .. but it looks like I may need to find me another surgeon to follow me . Who do you reccomend for follow up .. long term post op care ? I really need a new doc ... one closer .. I cannot keep going to Richmond for check ups .. and after care .. I just need to face facts that I am not that close . Any help you can give is appreciated . Tink

Natalie- I'm not sure if Dr. Anez's office takes patients from other Drs. or not, but feel free to give him a call. his Physician's Assistant Tiffany and his nutritionist Sally are wonderful. They are who I see for my aftercare (both are wonderful!). He has a website: http://www.obesitysurgerycenter.net and Sally can be reached through either that site or her www.stapleclub.com website. I know there is a Dr. Elrainy in the Falls Church/Arlington area (I think I spelled his name wrong) that I had checked out before Dr. Anez, but he wasn't covered by my insurance. Which, speaking of insurance...maybe you could check with your new insurance and find a surgeon that way? Hope that helps! Have fun at the beach!

I will check them out . I am so sad .. I really love my surgeons office , but not sure what is going on . I tried to get an appointment to see t hem , as the seatbelt pulled my TT incision really bad and they put me off .. so .. I will see Dr . Kreiger Thursday and hopefully he will be able to tell me if I tore it again . Thanks a bunch . Nat

Hey Nat, I thought something was funny when they called and rescheduled my appointment that I had in July, but couldn't get me in until September. I really need to get my labs done to see if I am still severely anemic, but guess I will have to wait....not much else to do. If you need your labs done to see if you are still severely anemic, you may want to see your PCP instead. He/She can order the same labs, get the same results, and give the same opinions. I wouldn't wait weeks to see a doctor if I needed one - there are docs everywhere for lab work. Joe

Hi Natalie - I can't get down to VA Beach that day as I have to take Bill to the airport as he is off on a business trip to Switzerland - originally we were going to go with him but decided against it wih my surgeries just coming up - we felt we could use our money in better ways :-( I may be able to persuade my mother in law to babysit so I can get to the casino night though.... I haven't aksed her yet.... As for surgeons, I could not recommend Dr Halmi high enough but I don't know if he takes on other patients - he does for his support group but not sure for his practice. His number is 866.282.1412 Toll Free or 703.878.7610 so you could call and ask him... They are great on long term case etc. Their new web site is http://www.virginiaweightlosssurgerycenter.com/ He used to be partnered with Dr Anez but recently have their own office... OH Jackie that is understandable . I just called Dr.Moaaza ( SP ) and they have to evaluate my op notes and weight history . So Hutchers office is faxing it over . I will call Dr. Halmi as well. Thanks

I know Karen moved over to Dr Mozzais (spelling too lol!) and it took months before he would accept her - he eventually did - you may want to ask her [email protected] what she thought of the whole process and if she can advise any short cuts.... I don't know of anyone who signed up with Dr Halmi..... Jackie
