Introduction!
I don't think I ever introduced myself (I just jumped right in an started posting!) LOL!
My name is Kayla, I'm the 25 y/o married single mother to two 2 year olds. Sound complicated? LOL! My husband is in the Army and is away (he's been gone since November and the earliest he'll be back is February (assuming that everything goes as planned!), so I am basically a single mother, it's all me 24 hours a day 7 days a week. My boys are "Irish Twins"...meaning that they were born within a year of each other. Jaysen just turned 2 yesterday and EJ will be 3 in 10 days.
I run a dog training business. Which I LOVE!
I currently weigh 258.6 lbs. 3.5 years ago, I weighed 170. Granted, that was still heavy, but I felt healthy and was very active (I played softball and ran 5ks)! But 2 kids back to back, getting married, moving to Caifornia and back, etc......was just too much stress and food became my friend.
I've been looking into WLS for about 2 years now, and have had my mind set for about 6 months.
I just had my orientation at the beginning of August and am working on finishing my 6 month supervised diet, now I have to wait for my surgical consult (sometime in Jan/Feb), from there I have to see a nutritionist, psychologist and anything else the doctor wants. So I'm estimating that I'll be looking at surgery in April or May (assuming my husband doesn't get orders and I have to start over from scratch with a new doctor!)
Well, thats me in a nut shell!

Kayla-
Hello! We've also chatted already, but here's an official welcome! HA! :-)
I'm a native Californian and have moved across the country a few times myself...so totally understand the moving stress thing!
Best to you!

You won't stay new for long!! If any of us can help you just let us know! You are on an exciting run up to the surgery and although it gets frustrating you need to hang in there and not give up - if you want this badly enough - it will happen!!
You can sometimes tell them your husband may be deployed and they may try to expedite some of the testing... it can't hurt...
But once again welcome and spend as much time here as you want to!!

Hey Kayla, Welcome!!!!! I live in Harrisonburg, and work at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in the Shenandoah Valley. I am a single mom (on the real)with 2 little girls...8 and 6. This board is totally awesome with all of the great people. Ask whatever pops in your head, someone has been there, done that, and got ALL the shirts
