Is this a good thing or wishful thinking?

Ok-I have Southern Health and I can go online to view what the Dr. has submitted to my insurance. When I looked the other day my consult to Dr. Northup said 'Other'- well after I submitted my diet diary from the Psych appointment I noticed that all of the sudden it said 'Approved.'  Is that a good sign? I thought I read on here that if that weren't going to approve you that they wouldn't pay for the initial appointment. I still have to do my 3 months of Dr. supervised diet (I have one more month)...am I reading to much into it? Wishful thinking huh?

Lori,  Do not torture yourself with this . Get on the phone in the am and call them . Remember you pay them to be your insurance company .. and they owe it to you to be upfront and honest ..  Not knowing how your insurance works, I would not try to decipher their approval codes .  You have every right to wish ... as dreams do come true ..  Nite ,  Tink

Lori,  As you know, I have Southern Health too.  This simply means that your initial consult with Dr. Northrup was approved for payment.  They have to submit each transaction separately.  When you are approved for your actual surgery it will say approved by an entry marked as inpatient surgery stay.  If you are still unsure, it is best to call them but I am letting you know how they did mine.  Hope this helps.

Hi Lori, I know you don't know me but I went through just what you're going through.  It took me a year to get an approval and I would go through all of it again in a heartbeat to be where I am now.  Just hang on...take one day at a time and PRAY!!!  I know the frustration of waiting and not knowing and wondering and guessing wanting this more than anything in the world.    Just try to be patient and yet presistant.  I called my insurance company about everyday.   LOL  I'm sure they got tired of me.  They made me jump through every possible hoop and even then tried to deny me.  Mine went into appeal 3 times and finally into a peer to peer appeal.  I can't say enough wonderful things about my doctor (Dr. Hutcher) or his office.  He pleaded my case and on May 25, 2006 I got the news that I had been approved.  My surgery date was set for July 3rd.  It was one of the happiest days of my life..... Just hang in there and keep on believing....because as Natalie said.....dreeams do come true.  I am a walking, lossing proof of that.    If you need encouragement at any time, please feel free to contact me. Lots of Love Kathy
