The Waiting Game...

I've had several of my firends and family have WLS.  I know that side of it.  I never knew considering WLS was so emotional.  Im so anxious and I hate waiting for the end of September (when I can submit to insurance).  One day Im excited about it, the other I don't know if it's for me, then I read something on here and get concerned, the up down swirrly loop is wearing me down... I just want it all over with and want to be on the other side.  I know I probably shouldn't rush that either as there are other things to manager once I get there.  I hate not knowing and I hate waiting.  I hate wondering.  But I hate being obese more.  I think one of the things I am realizing is really what it is to be obese, for so long I just ignored it and was a "pretty face".  Now I am aware of the tiredness, the back aches, the knee pain etc.  I This pre-op stuff is no joke and it is a paticence builder and path of acceptance.... I just need a hug ...  Or Id rather just      Calgon Take me away..

Amanda,  Here is a great big hug for you ....(i can't find the hug smiley).  just know that you are definitely not alone.  There is a reason we are being taught this patience...we will definitely need it on our journey.   You said the magical words "i hate being obese more".  That is all the reason that you need to get you through this.  It is a long trying journey but every little step we have to take is there for a reason.  Keep believing in yourself and the time will pass a little more quickly.  Hope to meet you soon.  Enjoy that Calgon bath!

Yep the beginnig as you are getting ready and submitting your papers, etc. is so hard.  The decision you ahve made for a healthy new you is a good one and will make your life so much better.  Chin up, keep at it, you are strong and you can do it.  Maybe you take some time for you this weekend and take that calgon bath or sleep in or something.

Never fear Tink is here .. LOL ... Do I know what you are feeling .. yes . I think we all do . This is some scary ... stuff .. right .. ?? So many questions , so many things to do . prepare for .. but the best thing you can do is prepare your mind and your spirit .  Pre-op regimine is to me .. a test of faith and spirit . I kept telling God .. Ok .. if I fail this test , I know you do not have it in my plan .. well .. each test I passed .. and each meeting I went to , things became clearer ..  3 years out .. I would do this again everyday .. and 2 x on Sunday ..  Do not let this wear you down .. look at it as a time to prepare .. and to get right all the things you need to before surgery . Yes .. it is exhausting at times .. But look at your future .. all that it will hold .. a new life .. a new you .. and much better health .  We all need support at times . We are here for you .. Just let your mind and your body get peace from this .. prepare and await your day in the sun ..  Much respect ,  TInk

I think all of us know exacty where you're coming from---I can definitely sympathize!! It will get better and when you start going thru some of the other phases at least then you will feel that you are gaining some ground. Along the way you will meet some wonderful people that will be a blessing just when you need it!! (I know this for a fact --it happened to me just the other day.) Keep your chin up and vent if you need to. (((((Big hug coming your way))))

Mandy, I am just now ready the post.   I am here you. Whenever you need to talk. We have been friends for so long. You will go through those feelings it is normal. You will also have feeling after your WLS. Like did I do the right thing. But once the weight start coming off and you will see how good you look those feeling will fade fast. Start going to some support group meeting people there will help you out a lot.  Love you girlie Tego
