Your dr allows tuna, eggs and cottage cheese at 1 week?  I had to go 2 weeks liquids only.  If you're on soft foods already here are some ideas: You should be able to have many kinds of soup without rice or noodles.  Pureed chili (didn't sound good to me but many posters liked it).  I loved refried beans or pinto beans with LF cheese melted into them. Laughing Cow Lite Cheese (Farm Fresh and Kroger carry them in a round box). V-8 juice has some protein in it. If you like fish, try salmon and tilapia.  You could splurge on Fage 0 yogurt (Trader Joe's), mixed with a pkt of splenda and SF preserves, it tastes like a whipped cream dessert, not like yogurt. Oh and there's also water, water, and more water! Good luck!

You can have: mashed potatoes gravy butter roasted chicken- chop it up small and you can add mayo to make chicken salad bean soups refried beans or any bean mashed ricotta cheese--mmm, mix w/splenda and a dash of cinnamon for a delicious treat unsweet applesauce mashed up carrots creamy soups--get the less sodium type oatmeal--add your own flavoring and make it really thin That's all I can think of that I ate from discharge at the hospital to my one month check up. Oh yea...don't forget your protein shakes!

My standbys at that stage were refried beans, SF peanut butter, cottage cheese (ick, can't stand it now!), unsweetened applesauce and lots of protein drinks.   I'd also suggest a mashed banana...but you  may want to wait a few weeks on that....especially since some people dump on bananas.

beans & ham were a big one for me, ground beef with some fat free cheese, egg salad, oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, I basically did what ever was for the meal in a blender (as long as it was leam meat, veggies, or fruit.  :)

Hummus is good too, just no pita bread. I found that canned chicken was real easy to eat yet tasty. Just remember if you puree meat that you add enough broth or water to make a spreadable consistency. If it's too dry you'll end up with a lump in your pouch and that hurts.
