Craving Strong Flavors

OK, it's been a couple weeks now with no weight loss and I'm feeling a bit concerned. I've noticed that my portions are getting a little bigger then the tablespoons they are supposed to be. While I don't actually feel hungry, I do crave strong flavors such as hot sauces, spicy V-8 juice, chili, BBQ sauce, hot spicy beef jerky, things with vinegar such as pickles, pickeled vegetables, and such. I eat beef jerky or nuts on the commute to work with the excuse that I am getting needed protein. I think I am fooling myself.  While my portions are miniscule compared to what I use to eat, I still feel guilty.

Hi! Question for you.. Did you eat these things before?  Im just curious if I will have such cravings after my surgery.  I don't normally eat BBQ or Pickles etc... but goodness only knows what the body will crave ;-)

Yes, I've always loved hot spicy foods and foods with vinegar. Nothing new, just a strong craving now.

Craving strong flavors seems to be a normal thing.  Since we eat so little it seems to be important to our taste buds that it is flavor full.  I actually get laughed at by my family because I have always been a very plain eater before surgery, no spices, no sauces, no dressing, etc and now I am more willing to try things and actually like having more flavor. Now as for you scale not moving you are at the point where your body is going to say hold up, what are you doing to me and it is going to take a break.  Try not to worry too much about it.  It is normal.  You will find that things are going to readjust and rearrange itself.  I always found that when my loss slowed, that was when my inches would drop and I would have to go down in clothes sizes.  You are also at a point where your portions will go up some.  Since you are probably still healing and not really feeling that full feeling, and probably eating soft foods still, don't stress too much.  When you shift to foods that are more dense you will feel it.  Just keep measuring things out so that you know you are doing it right.  If you are still hungry even after following the plan, talk with the nutritionist.  You have a long day and you might not be getting in enough to keep you going.  I had that problem because I have 2 jobs and pull 15 hour days.  After talking to the nutritionist, we had to add some snacks into my schedule to keep me going.
