Hey y'all, Just curious as to who might be attending the support group on the 12th of September at Sentara in Hampton?   Also, Does Sentara require someone wait there with you the day of surgery?  As of right now I have no one to wait with me :(  It's ok.... hubby cannot miss work, my dad is watching my little ones, mom works, and most of my friends all have little children or work so they cannot wait with me. Hi Autumn I will be at the support group meeting on the 12th - meet ya there!  No, you do not need anyone.  My hubby could not wait as we had contractors at the house that day, so he had to be there.  Dr. Clark called him when the surgery was done to let him know how I did. You will LOVE Dr Clark.  He is FAB! Good Luck!

Awesome! Can't wait to meet you Jill.  I personally don't mind too much if no one can't wait because I will be so dazed that I probably won't remember whose there!  It is more important to me to know my children are safe and being well taken care of.

Autumn - I'll be at the meeting on the 12th.  I can usually arrange the start of my work day and could possibly wait with you before surgery or be with you afterward before your husband can show up.  I went there by myself, had no visitors and went home by myself.  In the hospital after surgery I was barely awake long enough to take the obligatory walks and did not want any visitors.  The anesthesia made me feel awful (no nausea but just completely wiped out). Let's talk.

Thank you so much :)  I am so grateful for this website and the wonderful people such as yourself that it has put me in contact with :) I look forward to meeting with you and hearing your story.  Right now it looks like my hubby (Todd)will have to drop me off at the hospital around 5am to make it to work in time.  Hopefully I will have an early morning surgery and will not have to sit there by myself for long.  Of course if my veins act up it could take an hour just getting a line :(  That's what happened going in for the hysterectomy.  They had to bring in a black light to find a good vein because every line they did broke.   LOL, I told them..do what you have to do but I draw the line at sticking my feet or neck..unless they sedate me first
