Travel Question
This is a great question for your surgeon.
My guess would be that you'd want to wait until at least 6-8 weeks out, but keep in mind you can't lift anything over 10-15 pounds for several months (I'm thinking luggage). Also, you'd want to be on "real food" before you go and make sure you're not having any complications.
But, ask your surgeon for their suggested timeline.

I Love curises! I also think (even though Im a pre-op) You'd want to be able to have the stamina and energy to do the excursions, some people from what I read get hit with the sleepy's 1-3 months out as the body is adjusting.
The good thing about a cruise, I just read in a Weigh****chers magazine, is if you get to know the Matre D or the Head Waitress ... You can ask for what you need! :) So if you don't see something on the menu that you think the pouchie will embrace, don't be afraid to speak up and ask for what will work for you. The cruise lines really are out to have it be the best experience for their cruisers (IMH). I've sailed on Celebrity and Royal Carribbean. So that is where my experience comes from.
Happy Sailing!

Id say 6-8 weeks as well but Im not the expert check w/ Dr Schirmer and as I here these cruises fix what you need to eat. But like already said you would wanna be sure there isnt any complications an be on the ship. Hope you have fun where ever your going.
