I am soooo sick right now.  My grandma pissed me off and I ate really fast not really paying attention because I was trying to get done to get upstairs...and now, I am SO sick.  I haven't vomited yet...but, I am praying to do so because I am really in pain and just feeling awful.  So, to whomever posted about WHY to take 30 minutes...Vomit is the key answer there.  Please pray for really really really fast fxing...aka vomiting...I am really feeling awful

I hate when I let someone else mess with my eating habits and then *I* suffer for it. Sorry to hear you got upset and are feeling bad.  It will pass....

Hopefully someone has told you to have a bottle of Papaya Enzymes on hand for these times??  If not, if there is an all night drug store around you -- call and ask them if they have them.  chew 4-5 of these and walk around.  Within minutes you will feel better.

I agree with Cathy - these Papya Enzymes are miracle workers! I have a bottle on hand even though I don't need them much but they do seriously help... you are probably all better now but if you don't have any do get a bottle to keep on hand... Jackie

Yep make sure you get those Papaya Enzymes to keep on hand.  The few times that this has happened to me I managed to get through it although it takes anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.  A few times I have cheated and taken a few sips of water to get the stuff pushed out of my pouch.  I warn you though that this doesn't work for everyone, my stepmom who has also had surgery can't do that because it just makes it worse and makes her vomit.  A small second warning, although the idea of making yourself vomit is very appealing to get past the moment, it can be dangerous and lead to eating disorders.  I have a friend that this happened to after surgery and she struggles with fighting the eating disorder on top of everything else.  Hopefully you are feeling better by now and have a great day.

OH...I forgot about the papaya enzymes!  I have an extra bottle if you'd like to have it (never opened, my husband went a little crazy and bought 2 because they were on sale....I rarely use it!).  Just a word of caution though....I found that sometimes it would calm things down (yeah!) and sometime it would make everything come back up (not so yeah). It's worth a shot though.

I look at it this way when I do something like that and pay dearly for it. I ate a bag of honey roasted peanuts the other day and man did the sugar make me sick. These episodes are working in your favor to help change your eatting habits. Aversion therapy I guess it would be. Next time you start to eat too fast, you may remember this situation and it should slow you down. The desire to avoid unneccesary pain is a powerful deterant.

I agreewith Christina . Papaya is not always the answer here . I have taken them sometimes and been sicker by taking them.  Again it goes back to always following the rules . Sometimes things do get in our way . We truly have to look at each situation to see if there is anything we can change about our surroundings that will make your eating time enjoyable and lasting .  I bet next time someone or something trys to interfere with your dinner or your eating you will just have to tell them to wait .  Hope you feel better soon ,  TInk

I have a hard time eating when I am upset. Even if i eat slow my pouch hurts sometimes if i am upset. Papaya works sometimes for me. Warm coffee or tea helps get it down. Sorry about the icky feeling. I had not thrown up for a very long time until recently. Really makes my pouch hurt. Hope you are back to normal now and yours has calmed down.  Shannon
