I got his OK with the type of surgery and why and I don't have to loose any weight before surgery YAY! I got all my questions answered and asked ones I hadn't even though about .. I was so proud of myself.   I do need a CPAP Machine... argh.. but he said only for the first 40 pounds and get retested... He explained his reasoning and process behind it. So I can support that..even though it is a mild case... He even listed some syptoms about after surgery that I hadn't thought about... groggy, swollen throat from the tube, etc etc etc... Asked me if Id be ok with the Vitamins daily for the rest of my life.... I really felt prepared and Im ready now... lets do this!

I have to go back in to get the machine calibrated and I haven't scheduled another sleep study yet... Sometime in October...  My Mom had SA (sleep Apena) before her RNY so I may use her machine and just get it calibrated for me... we'll see....

YAY!!!!! I am so excited for you... That's good that the CPAP is just for the first 40lbs. girl that will be like the first 2 months or so. You might not get the sore throat I didn't I think it is based on the person. Congrats to you.... Montego

40 pounds will be gone in no time at all! :-) I rented my machine through my insurance company...it was only $6-7 dollars a month...but if they'll let you use the other one that works too!

Congrats on the next step.....it'll happen before you know it!

Cool Beans! The CPAP is not really that bad, I've been on one for 20 years and while I am happy I won't need it much longer. The new ones are so small and quiet you hardly notice it.

Great!  One step closer... Re: sore throat and groggy.  The sore throat was gone before I went home from the hospital, but the grogginess from anesthesia lasted until I went to the gym 7 days post-op and worked the treadmill and bike for a couple of days.  I really sweated hard and this seemed to get it out of my system. You'll find your own way, though, I'm sure!

Knowledge is soooo powerful, huh?  The more we can learn about wls, the less fearful we are.

Just think...in a short while you too will be able to grouse about all the jello & broth & popcicles & protein drinks like the rest of us...LOL!  AND you'll get to watch the numbers on the scale fall lower & lower.  MY scale has finally quit screaming at me, "GET OFF!!!!"  Now it says, "oh my...you're so good & gettin' skinnier every day. Please step on me whenever you feel the urge."

So now you just need a surgery date, right?

Hugs!
Ann
