Met my first, real, live WLS pal

Ann (CWMOM98) came by the hospital today for her appointment and we had lunch. What an incredible person. We talked for and hour and a half about everything. (Don't tell my boss) At times she had me in stitches. We traded EMT war stories. We talked about living on a farm. We talked about our after WLS lives. It was fantastic. I enjoyed getting to really know someone that I had only met on the Virginia OH forum. This is one outstanding lady.

I haven't met Ann, but she is wonderful! She always has something valuable to add.. and is a straight shooter! Shes been a huge support for me..

Note to self:  must go to western shop to buy new cowgirl hat...head swelling, getting too big!

Isnt is great to meet people in person, I had chatted with a great friend for a long time before surgery. Met a few at drs office and one from here for the first time in hospital after my surgery. They are still great friends. You will get alot of support thru wls as well as the other crap life hands you! Shannon

Shannon, everything you said is so true.  Frankly, I'm doing pretty good with the wl stuff...it's the "other crap life hands you" that I need help with from time to time & these people NEVER let me down.  Go****hink back 20, 30 years ago, before computers...none of this would be possible without our modern technology, even though some days I'm ready to chuck this thing out the back door!!!

Yes I have some great friends that call and are really concerned with what other crap that goes on in life.,as do I call them. Thats the only way we really know what is going on in someones life and show that we care. I am on dial up and want to chuck mine many days too. High speed is not offered where I live now. Life is very rough sometimes now and its great friends that help you thru. Others can only assume what is really going one but we know what assumptions make out of us.  Lookin forward to meeting you! Yep the messages I have had with Ann have been fabulous.  I too can't wait to actually meet her one of these days.  Hopefully soon.  She hasn't been around lately & I miss her.  Ann, where are you?
