PCP Letter - Help

Ladies... I have officially hit my first hurdle with this stuff... My PCP letter wrote a letter of support.. great thing right? NO! It was one sentence long.. I concur that our mutual patient Amanda K is a good candidate for Gastric By Pass... WTF? UGH! Does anyone have a sample letter or anything or tips on what I can tell my PCP to put in the letter? I guess it gets a little tricky as I am on the edge of things.. meaning I don't have any current major comorbidities.  There are my knees, my back, my mild sleep apnea everything else right now is ok. She could mention the depression symptoms, but that comes from PMDD not weight... but actually the more I think about it they have developed over the last year or so and gotten progressively worse as I've added on more fluff. Help!? Amanda

She should put in the letter that you have tried various diets--naming each one and the dates, sleep apnea, the knees and the back and even the depression. If I come across a letter, I'll let you know. Good luck

Gee Amanda, she wrote all that?  Hope it didn't tax her too much!!!!  I mean all that effort...she must have been mentally exhausted!!!  That crap just ****** me off!!!  Your best bet might be to consult with your surgical team & write the letter yourself then take it to Miss Thang & have her sign it!  If she refuses, then remind her that she's already made a buttload of money off ya so far...you can take your dog & pony show somewhere else to someone who's actually on YOUR side!  Ohhhhh...just makes me so mad!!!!

Hugs!
Ann

Amanda- So sorry you're having to deal with this!   I didn't have to get a letter from my PCP, but I suppose if she were the one that did my six-month supervised diet I would have had her mention those dates/weights. Just a thought...like I said, didn't have to get one.  Keep the faith...it'll work out.
