Ugh that Barium is nasty!  They had it dripping on my pj's and I was trying not to throw it up but dribbled some.  I have been sick to my stomach.  Today I am home alone for awhile and I pray that I won't get stuck in a position.  It hurts really bad to try and pull myself up from laying and sometimes sitting down.  Around 2am I had to wake up hubby to help lift me up because I was having stomach spasms and couldn't get up myself to get pain meds.  How are you doing?

Wow, stomach spasms, I'm sorry. I haven't had any of those yet. Actually I'm doing great. Barely any pain anymore and so far I've lost 24 lbs. For once in long time I'm able to wear my pants below my belly button, I know that sounds stupid, but its a big deal to me. I am itching from the tape that was put on my incisions. That is the only thing bothering me this morning/ So what are you using for protein drinks? I use Isopure, its a liquid pre-made protein drink. It's not as bad as those shakes were (thats my opinion at least). Hugs & kisses! ~*Stacy*~

Hey Autumn welcome to the losing side.  Sounds like you are doing pretty well.  Hopefully your pain will go away soon.  Some of it is probably anesthia related (back pain).  Try to prop yourself up with lots of pillows, will help some with the movement issues.  You are doing fabulous with your protein.  Already on the ball with the water & walking.  Keep it up girl.

I'm trying to prop with as many pillows as I can.  I finally found a semi- comfortable way to lay on my sides last night. I am still relying on pain meds.    Is it normal to feel this hungry?  I don't seem to have a problem taking in too much fluids..no dumping.. ugh I have to make this tool work!  I refuse to buy a scale so I don't know if I have lost weight yet, I look extremely bloated/swollen though. It feels so good to walk and stand up.  I just want to walk all day.

Pillows help.  I found after my gallbladder surgery (wish I had found it after my rny) that if you lay on your side and place a pillow under your abdomen it does help support it so that there isn't a pull on the incision.  Use the pain meds if you need to, that is what they are there for.  When you feel up to it try doing tylenol during the day and then pain meds at night until you can get off of them completely.  Some of the hunger may be head hunger and just mentally wanting food but my nutritionist fully believes that you can experience hunger immediately, I agree with her but others do not and believe it is all in your head.  Are you on a liquid diet?  Try adding protein (unflavored if you have it) to your broths & such.  It will help.  You will make it work.  Don't fret yet.  You probably are bloated (from the air they put in your abdomen) & may have actually gained some.  The fluids from the iv's make some people gain.  If you feel like walking then do as much as you are physically able to.  It will help with the gas & bloating and get you started on your exercise.  Sounds like you are doing great.
