Oct 6 dinner problem
Ok gang...I checked the restaurants & nobody wants to host us on Saturday night! I couldn't believe my ears!! I even said, "do you realize how much money you're turning away????" So far we have 22 ppl coming, could be more by the 6th...they wouldn't budge...said that if it could be earlier or even on a Sunday, Logan's might work with us, but not on a Saturday night. They all already experience an hour & a half wait just for regular customers...our group would really put them backlogged. Soooo, now what do we do? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Unfortunately I will not be coming up for the dinner however I wanted to let you know that I have experienced that problem with places here in Richmond and the only two exceptions that I have found is to call the district manager and make a plea for help (explain about the conference and that is why it has to be so late) or have someone that is not going to the conference but is going to dinner take a book or a magazine and go there early and reserve the tables that way. There is often a problem with getting seperate checks this way and they usually tack on a hefty tip for large parties, but it may help. Hape you all have a great time!

It was On The Border in Reston. They had a private room, but I still had to basically do "call ahead seating" not reservations....they too were leary about us bailing and them having a line waiting with that many empty tables sitting there waiting for us.

Amazing! Would they rather have a party of 22 walk in "unexpected" and wait!? GRRR!
Did you check with the hotel restuaruant? Maybe they'll be more accomodating considering they know about the conference.
