I cannot believe this is happening to me already! I am stuck at 244 lbs and its been that way for 3 days. I try to do my protein drinks regularly but I usually end up not doing what I said would do. Its not like I have bad intentions, its just the whole liquid only thing is getting old for me. So thank goodness I have an appt with my Dr on wednesday to discuss my 2 week progess and HOPEFULLY be on pureed food. Does anyone have any advice about how to get losing again? ~*Stacy*~

Stacy, You are two weeks out. You lost a lot of weight the first week or week and a half, but that is probably primarily water weight (sorry to have to say that, but that's what my Nut told me when I lost 27 lbs in the first 11 days). True, it is weight, and you can rightfully take credit for the pounds you lost. But, your body is still getting used to the new you, and you are still getting used to exercising the discipline that you will require to take advantage of your WLS, your new tool. Right now, toss the scale and only weigh every week (at the most). Follow your doc's instructions precisely, and get lots of protein, water, and walking. That will have the effect you want. Keep it up, the worst is behind you, but you have to stick with the program. BTW, your body doesn't get any nutrition when you "try to do your protein drinks but usually end up not doing it". That behavior will make you very tired, very sick, and won't help you lose weight. Your body is playing for keeps and MUST have the protein and water, or your health will pay the price and your weight loss will be less effective. You have come a long ways to get where you are now - follow your doctor's and your nut's plan for you. You can do this. You won't be sorry. Joe Bear (only 9 weeks out - I well remember weeks 2 and 3) PS, did I say toss the scale?

Stacy ,  it is normal to slow down . Understand a Platuea is a stop in weightloss that continues for more than 4 to 6 weeks . You are not in a Plautea . Trust me here . Your body has basiclly been in starvation mode for the past 2 weeks .  Try not to worry about it . You will lose .  The process of liquid , to puree, to soft to regular foods is a normal process . We all go through it and we all get it done . You can too . Look towards the end result and try not to concentrate on the food stages .  I tell many if you want to jump start your weightloss, up your protein , water and change up your exercise . In your case , you are such a newly post op , that you will restart again . 3 days .. this is so normal .  So many of us get caught up in the numbers game with this surgery . Concentrate on you , good food choices , exercise and watch what happens . Sometimes you will have no weightloss and you will loose inches . Very common .  Take it easy , Take a deep breath .. know that you are doing all the right things .. and enjoy life .. that is what it is all about .  Take care , . Natalie

Stacy it is perfectly normal, it will pick back up again.  The same thing happened to me.  Now I have stalls that sometimes last 2-3 weeks but I just keep plugging away.  I know I will get there but now that I am so close it has really slowed down. That's okay though.  Don't worry it will get going again for you!! Hugs, Anna

Hey Stacy!  The stall is perfectly normal.  Your body is saying "Hello what are you doing to me?"  It is possible that if you aren't getting in enough protein you could be slipping into starvation mode and your body is trying to hold onto everything it can.  Keep trying to push that protein.  You only have a few more days and then hopefully you can move on to soft foods.  You can do this.  You have done great so far, keep it up girl.
