Just moved to VA!

Hi Everyone!! Just wanted to connect with some folks here in VA!  We just moved to the area recently from TX.  I'm ready to get involved with the VA board now that I have almost everything unpacked and the kids settled into their new routines.   It's been quite a change from Corpus Christi, but it's so beautiful up here and sooo much cooler that we fell in love with the area the day we drove into town!   I had surgery almost a year ago.  I'm at my goal weight and trying to STOP losing, but my body isn't cooperating too well. It seems to think I need to lose more weight.  Not sure if it's from the increased activity or what, but I've lost 8 pounds since moving.  I had been at the same weight (well, had a 3-4 pound "bounce" going on) for about 3 months and was starting to think about having the tummy done and now I'm losing again.  Not sure if I'm upset about that or not.  LOL  It's sort of weird to worry about losing too much weight when for years I was worried about gaining - and continuing to gain. Hope to get to know you all on this board!

Morning!! Thanks for the great welcome and info!!  I can't wait to start meeting everyone and making new friends in VA.  I left a really great group in TX (and still go to the TX board) so I'm hoping to find something similar here.  From the looks of it, that won't be hard as everyone has been so nice in welcoming me! Not sure yet if I'll be able to go to Richmond in January.  Hubby is in the Navy and I have to coordinate with his schedule.  But, I'm sure I can do some of the local meetings.   Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Welcome Susan ,  You are a long way from TX that is for sure . I wanted to welcome you and tell you I too went through the same thing of loosing to much . But I now have a handle on it and am very content , and happy at my weight . Sometimes our motabolism gets outa wack and we have to learn to work with it and not against it .  I am a Virginian , born and raised , but have moved to Maryland as I just got married in April to a wonderful man .. I just cannot leave the VA Board , as this is where I got started .  So many great people here who I am sure will greet you with great welcome and abound .  I am wanted to also invite you to check out my profile . I am Co-director of an annual weightloss Event each year in January . We would love to have you come out to meet others in the Va and surrounding states . It is an awesome event , great people , lot's of education and a great way to get to know us .  We look forward to hearing more from you ..  Take care !  Natalie

Hi Natalie! Thanks for the welcome!!  I understand what you mean about moving away - but still participating on the board.  I'm doing the same thing with the TX board.  But, I had heard the VA board was really nice, so I thought I'd check you guys out and make some friends here too!!  Glad I did as you all are so wonderful!!  :) I may have questions for you later about how to work with instead of against my metabolism if I can't get a handle on this loss.  Or, it could just be the increase in exercise (no longer have a backyard, so I have to walk our puppies several times a day - plus we have stairs now that I'm running up and down all day long) that has me losing extra weight.  I need to start tracking my intake in Fitday again so I am SURE that I'm getting enough calories.  I know I'm okay with protein and water and vitamins, but I may not be getting in enough calories.  Does that blow anyone else's mind?  I used to worry about eating too much, now it's the complete opposite.  "Oh gee....did I eat ENOUGH today??"  lol The event in January sounds wonderful.  If I can work it out with hubby (he's Navy) I might be able to make it, but won't know for a while yet.   Thanks again for the great welcome.  Can't wait to get to know you better!!

Welcome! VA B and Hampton Roads WE's (there's a story to the WE's - Amber can explain) are meeting for dinner this coming Sunday evening in VA Beach.  Can't remember where exactly (Pembroke??) and not sure time was finalized (5 or 7 pm were the choices), but look for a post this week from Amber who was making arrangements.  People bring their significant others if your DH would like to come, too.
