Ain't that the truth!!?? I"m just so glad that Joe & Amy extended their hospitality to us. I was thinking I may have to take my gun to the restaurants to strong arm somebody to host us...LOL!!! I could just blame it on raging hormones from weight loss, right??? Temporary insanity???

As much as I love kids, & I'm sure your twins are just the sweetest little things, this might be a good time for a sitter. Besides, that gives you & hubby a night out with friends! Now the picnic we did this past Saturday...they'd have loved it!!! Wide open spaces for them romp & play!! Thanks for asking, Mo. You're just the bestest!!! (is that a word??)

Ok everybody...here's the latest & greatest so far. Phew! I've been on the phone & internet all day...typed my fingers down to nubbs!!! LOL Date: Oct 6th Time to arrive: Joe says those of you attending the conference are more than welcome to go straight to his house; those of you coming just for dinner, 5:30 & on. Place: Joe & Amy's house in Chantilly. For the sake of privacy, please PM so that I can send you the address & you can mapquest it, or however you find your way around. Requirements: We need to hold the guest list to a max of 40 people. Also, IF we choose to cater, sign-up deadline has to be Oct. 1st. No pets please, & adults only please. Now, about the food. You have two options to choose from. One, we can cater. I've spoken to Red, Hot & Blue, Damon's, Logan's, & Famous Dave's BBQ. So far my favorite is Famous Dave's for a couple of reasons. One, they are close to where Joe lives & two, they have the most reasonable prices. Are you ready for this?? $9 per person (that includes a 20% tip)!!! And here's what you get for your whopping $9: Appetizer: fresh fruit platter (cantelope, honeydew, grapes, strawberries) Meats: Pulled chicken, Pulled pork, AND Beef Brisket!! Sides: Baked beans, Tater salad, AND Garden salad (I'll bring the FF dressings) Our Hosts are providing drinks, eating utensils, plates, etc. (Thanks you two!!) Ordinarily Famous Dave's would be able to deliver, but they have a huge "thing" going on at the Nissan Pavillion plus a bunch of weddings that day. I doubt there will be any problem with it being picked up. Joe, you & I will have to chat about the logistics of the pick up. But for $9 per person, that's a bloody steal!!! The other idea Joe & I talked about is a potluck or even an international potluck. He said that for those of you attending the conference, you could swing by his place & drop off your dish at his house (he lives two miles from the conference site). IF you all vote for Dave's, then I would ask that payment be made in advance. And once you commit, unless you cancel out before Oct. 1st, you'd still be expected to remit because Oct 2nd I would confirm our order & my hubby would get really P.O'd if we got stuck for unpaid meals. Hate to have to do this, but we've been burned before & I'm sure you all have been too at some point in your lives. Sooooo, what shall it be? Famous Dave's for $9 per person, or potluck?? You all decide!!

It's a steal - i say we do Famous Dave's!!!! Are you sure you heard right as it does seem remarkably cheap........??? Yes we should pay in advance and it should be non refunddable - if anyone changes their mind they should stil have to pay so no-one gets left with the cost........ this is an excellent deal Anne! Yeah Jackie!!! I was hoping you'd agree with me...LOL. And yes, I'm right about the price. Had the guy email me the tentative catering contract. However, my son, Matt, made a very good point. You see, even though we are limiting attendees to 40, I did not consider that not all 40 are wl people...close to half are non-wl with no dietary or portion restrictions so the price is based on servings for 20. However, I believe upping the amount to accomodate our non-dieting friends/family to 30 will be sufficient. I will call the guy tomorrow & confirm that, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. May lower their tip to 15% rather than 20% & that would still keep it in the $9 range. Ok y'all...need more votes cuz majority rules here.
