H Pylori positive anyone?
Has anyone been treated for this before they were approved for surgery? I mean i am glad that this will (hopefully) be taken care of so its not an issue when ( :) ) i get approved. I can not believe the cost of the Prev-Pac...my insurance was billed $420.00.
I am not agreeing with the pills. 4 in the morning and 4 at bedtime, the morning ones upset my stomach Even though i ate something.
I tested positive at my surgical eval, and had to take 3 different anti biotics 4 times a day for 2 weeks. Nasty big pills that made me gag! Be sure you take them with a full glass of fluid, not milk, and better check your literature, because the tetracyline said it has to be taken on an empy stomach. Good Luck, Pam
I had this diagnosed and treated a couple years before surgey. The meds are expensive and nasty, I agree on that one totally. I still had a few problems after the treatment but biopsy during endoscopy confirmed that it was gone. It did continue to show on blood tests as positive once I was treated. Best of luck with those nasty meds. Probably better to tolerate them now that post op.
Have a great weekend!

The prev pac is the worst. I had to do it twice. I tested positive with my first set of labs and then a couple of months later I was having some stomach problems and they tested me again and I was still positive. It was a much lower level of the H Pylori but still had to do it AGAIN. It leaves a metallic taste in your mouth that doesnt go away
