Walk From Obesity - Fair Oaks Mall Report

There was a really good turn out for the Walk from Obesity at the Fair Oaks Mall. I got to meet a lot of really cool people. All the Inova Fair Oaks Hospital Bariatric people where there. They are so encouraging and nice. I also met JadesMom who is a wonderful person and she looks so slim. It was fun and good exercise. Met some Docs and even someone who sells the equipment used to staple our pouches. I can't remember her name but I really enjoyed talking to her and her husband. Nice folks. And I actually won a raffle prize. It was a "The Walking Company" basket with lots of walking stuff. On another note, I had lunch with JoeBear yesterday. He is such a great guy. We talked and laughed and compared stories. I never realized that I would gain the added benefit from WLS of meeting such wonderful people. 

I am glad  there was such a good turn out - I really enjoyed last years and was sorry to miss this years. One of the added benefits that I have found from having this surgery is the huge circle of friends I have made  - I feel so blessed to be a part of such a great community! Jackie

I am glad to hear the turnout was good.  I have missed both walks because they fall right in the middle of a busy time for me.  Maybe one year I can figure it out to make it. Isn't the friendships a great blessing.  It too has amazed me and is a bright spot in my life.

Michael, I did thewalk in Silver Springs yesterday . They hada good turn out  too.    Wasn't  that equipment great  ?  I had seen the surgery video but never saw it for real. I was amazed. I will diffently walk again. See you lighter. Joanne

It sounds like a great event in Silvere Springs.  I wasn't able to go to the Fair Oaks one because I had already signed up to attend the Natural & Organic Products Expo at the Baltimore Convention Center.  IT WAS FABULOUS!!!!!  I met the owner of the company that makes Power Crunch Bars and other great contacts.  They have the biggest exhibit of products I've evere seen and so many were WLS friendly.  I brought home great samples and info.  Anyway, back to the subject -- I'll be at the evenet and dinner.  I look forward to meeting you too.
