So, last night was a BAD night for me...After all, I had such high expectations for these protein bullets...I have tried mixing the fruit punch with fruit punch crystal light...this helped MINIMALLY...the smell of those things is overwhelming and I just don't think I can do them very often....if at all...I'm battling severe nausea for the past several days and I think I just am going through a stage of ick! I did find TWO things that I think I can handle on an almost daily basis.  I have taken the Nectar Fuzzy navel and added it to unsweetened iced tea...makes a decent peach tea.  I also tried the Nectar Lemon Tea flavor in some unsweetened iced tea.  These were good.   As for some of the other advice I've gotten...I have used milk, water, coffee, tea, crystal light, you name it...to try to mask the flavor of things or to make them not so sweet.  Sometimes I can tolerate it...sometimes not. Please do understand that I am getting SOME protein in...just not nearly enough.  I get at least ONE protein drink down per day (about 23g) then...I have been using my meals to pack in as much as possible...tuna, ground beef, pureed chicken, refried beans, etc.  I rarely get veggies or fruits in because I am just too full by the time I get to those.  SO, I can say that I'm getting roughly 40g protein per day...about HALF what I need.  SO, it's not as bad as it sometimes seems to me. There are just some days when I wonder what I've done...I know it's natural.  But, between the vitamins that I tolerated 3 weeks ago and now can't hardly deal with to the protein and the money that's been wasted on that...I'm feeling rather down about it all.   Thanks for the support!  It means a lot.   Oh...if anyone loves the protein bullets...I will sell them for a discounted price...I have grape, orange and fruit punch flavors and they all have one missing from the case...but, otherwise in tact.

Alright Ms. Lisa, don't get discouraged.  So many people go through the same issues.  The smell issue is a major part.  I want to ask a few questions to see what we can do to help. 1. How do you make your drinks?  Are you just dumping the protein in to a drink & then stirring?  Are you putting it in a blender? My suggestion, if you aren't putting it in a blender, try that with lots of ice.  That will help water it down & helps to make the drink lighter in texture.  This may help tremendously. 2.  What have you tried with your unflavored? A lot of people love putting it into coffee drinks, add a little flavored creamer etc.  Some really love it in iced coffee.  One of my coworkers puts hers into her crystal light.  One way to do this with crystal light (or other drink mixes) to hlep mask the taste some is to not put so much water into the mix & then the flavor of your drink mix is stronger.  So now some suggestions from the heart. *Try the recipe I posted to you and see if that will help.   *If your drinks are too strong in flavor, try splitting them up.  Make up one drink like you are supposed too with protein, seperate it into two cups and add more of your regular drink, drink one & save one for later.  Drink 4 shakes a day instead of two. *try trading or selling what you have that you don't like to others (even at a discount you will be getting some of your costs back) *try to use decaf tea & coffee, the caffiene can irritate our pouches & dehydrate us more. *see if you can tolerate Propel (2 grams of sugar per serving) they are flavored but not as strongly & might work better for you since things are too sweet for you. As you get farther out & are able to supplement more with food & your pouch calms down, hopefully it will get easier.  Keep trying Lisa.  You can do this.  Something is out there that will work for you.  More prayers coming your way.

Lisa,  I know it doesn't help much, but I can understand your frustration. I too have a very hard time with the liquid and powder proteins. None of them taste even slightly good to me.  I know there are others on this forum who have not been able to get them down and have been told to increase their intake of milk. I do everything I can to get as much protein as I can from my food and while I am sure there are those who will chastize me for it, I'm doing what I can to make this work.  Hang in there, you will make it.

Lisa, Here are my favorite proteins. The hardest thing about Gastric Bypass is finding the protein suppliments that agree with you. Once youve found what works and what is tolerable, peace with protein is bliss! Please keep experimenting!! My favorites in the beginning months... Unjury unflavored protein- In a bullet put 1 scoup or packet of Unjury unflavored Protein. Add 2-3 Spleanda's 1/2 -1 frozen bananna ripe and pre sliced, 1 cup skim milk tiney splash of vanilla extract. Blend in bullet until smooth. The bananna, really well masks the protein flavor. Unflavored still has a flavor, i don't care what anyone says!!! Look up Unjury on the internet. it is made here in Reston and is the protein they give you in the hospital if you went to Fair Oaks. 20 grams of protein per scoop. Chocolate Unjury is pretty good too! I don't like their fruity ones! Only fresh fruit in a smoothie does it for me. Isopure Dutch Chocolate powder 27.5 grams of protein per scoop. This can be mixed with water or milk. I used milk in the beginning to get in more protein but it seemed too sweet because of the natural sugar in milk, so I switched milk for water and that was the ticket!! I put it in the bullet with some ice and blend it up and it reminds me of a Yoohoo! Now I sometimes add a little fat free half and half  yum, yum AchieveOne- my personal favorite now. I hope to never to be out of it!  It's a pre made coffee flavored drink with 20 g's of protein. It comes in several flavors, Vanilla Nut Hazelnut, Cupaccino and Mocha Java. The Cupacchino is by far my favorite! I buy these from Barriatriceating.com, 4 cases at a time. They are also working on a plain non coffee Vanilla and Chocolate. I can't wait to try them. The only problem is that the factory can't keep up with demand and now they are changing their bottle from glass to plastic and they have top make it diferently. If you order some and you like it. Turn around and do a heavy order of it because they run out! This costs about 2.50 per bottle with shipping. not cheep but it goes down so easily. These do contain caffine but the new flavors won't. My nutritionist does not frown upon this product. in fact it is really helping me get in my required amount of protein. Those protein bullets made me gag! I thought they were hideous too! I'll have to try the tea you mentioned because i love decalf tea, i drink it all day!! I really hope this helps! Please let me know! Unjury can send you samples so you can try before you buy!!! I am completely in the same boat right now!  At first I could handle getting in my protein perfectly...now I cannot stand it! I took the Nectar Fuzzy Navel and added two packets of Crystal Light sugar free peach ice tea with ice.  It turns a very nasty looking color but the Crystal Light really enchanced the peach flavor without it being too sweet.   I have a stomach bug right now and cannot keep any food down...barely water.
