Going insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I look up the number on the portsmouth naval hospital site today and they are only about 30 numbers from mine and now Im freaking!
I have been so busy I havent done much to prepare.
And now I cant find my book I got at the orientation!!!
Ok so if you were crunched for time what's some of the most important things that need to be done ????
Thanks
Brandi~
Find that book Brandi- You will need it at your consult. There is a questionnaire in the backof the book that you need to complete.
When you are called to make your appointment, you will be told to go in for bloodwork prior to the appointment. The day of your consult with the Dr. you will get all your other pre op test info.
I used my waiting time to change behaviors. No soda, less sweets/junk, not drinking with meals are some things that I can think of. We can talk more when we meet at Cheeseburgers in Paradise on Sat. Oct 20 6 PM.
Im searching the house over...I think I might have fallen asleep reading it a couple weeks ago and so it didnt get put back where it goes...
I had already starting filling out the back, but I just wanted to refresh on somethings. Im wondering if they should have called me by now for the pre op stuff if Im only 30 or so numbers away....I guess Im getting excited :)
Excitement is a good thing. Preparing yourself with some of the things Jen mentioned is a great way to start. Making sure you have all of your vitamins, papaya, beano, etc. Order some protein samples to try. Reasearch and learn as much as you can. They will probaby call you soon for that appointment. Keep us posted.
Brandi,
I know exactly what you mean. I am only 18 numbers away! I have not received a call yet. I figure within the next month I should hear something. I am so excited myself. I had to put by book inside of a binder because it was falling apart! I have changed my habits a great deal and I have even lost 25 lbs. I still need to work on finding a protein that I like. I will just try to have several on hand since I hear your tastes change when you have the surgery. So we might love it now and not like it after the WLS. Good luck and keep me posted. I talked to VA Bill the other day and he is #571. He did his blood work, had his consult with the surgeon, and even had his nut appt. He has some other tests to complete this month but he is looking at sometime in Nov. for his actual surgery date at PNH. Hope this helps you to feel more relaxed.

I understand excitment. I have my first Appt. this afternoon. I got my Book, Letter from a doc I have been seeing out in town, and the prayers of many. Most of all, I have Jesus. If it was not for him, I would have not kicked the tabacco habit after 30 years.
I will keep everyone posted on how the appt. went.
Hey Girlie,
I have MANY varities of protein that I'd be happy to give you samples or all of. I have moved up to soft foods and have found only a couple protein brands I like. Now I have about $175-200 in un-opened brand new proteins that I'd be happy to pass on (free) to another loser
Gimme a pm if you'd like to meet up before Oct.20th or whenever. I have two boys near the same age bracket as yours so we could let them play or whatever. I too, had my oldest the month after I turned 17. We have a good bit in common.
Autumn
