Stephanie, Wow, I just looked up your profile. You have worked very hard and have come such a long way!!! I know that beautiful family is so proud of you too!!! My son just last night (he's 13 next month) made it a point to tell me how much better I look now and how proud he is of me. It just feels so good to hear that from my child! McLean

Hello McLean Well, thank you. And yes, my kids love it. My oldest loves the fact that she can wear my old size 9 shoes, but hates it now that I wear an 8 and they are way more funkier lol.  She is going on 12 yo, and is already 5'7 3/4", and in a size 16, young girls. My oldest son, who is 9yo, loves to "flap" my arms, says I could fly like a butterfly, LOL. Kids! Yes, I have worked hard, had a rough time, and at times still do, but I tell you, IT IS SO WORTH IT! Granted I dont say that, when I need to get rid of something stuck, or something that just wont go in. That sucks. Have a great weekend.

Stephanie, I am glad to hear that you are glad to have done it (WLS surgery) in spite of the discomforts! I am on a panel tomorrow on behalf of my Dr.'s office and Fair Oaks Hospital representing Gastric Bypass patients at the Obesity Help Conference in Fairfax.. People  interested in surgery  will ask us questions and they always ask of anyone was sorry to have done GBP. So far, I, haven't met anyone who was regretful of making that decision. Yes there are some bumps along the road, sometimes small and sometimes larger but the results, if you follow your instructions and do your follow up care, can be spectacular, just like you!!! I hope to get to know you better as we continue on our journey! Have a great weekend too! Your children sound as cute as they look! Ann

Hello Ann Again, I thank you. That is great that you will be on the panel for tomorrow, I am sorry to say that I wont be attending. I have so much to do with the house, that I keep busy. Now, following all the instructions I think is hard, but keeping the mind set is the hardest. No one can prepare a bypass patient for the "head" issues that you have. I am still a big girl inside, it is so hard to see otherwise. But then when I pull on the jeans...I am like Hell yeah! lol Thank you about my kids, they are a mess, but all mine.  Getting to know you would be great, we are in Hartwood, not too far from Warrenton, come up that way sometime, we were there last weekend, actually. ;) Take care, and good luck this weekend.

Stephanie, The Staple Club (Dr. Anez's support group) allows other Dr's patients to attend their meetings. The next meeting has, I think a psychologist, speaking to the group next week about body immage and why it takes our brains so long to catch up and the psychological part of the process!!! It is at Fair Oaks Hospital conference room, 3700 Joseph Siewick Dr.near Dr. Anez's office. if you are interested you could come. Support group is in my opinion a vital part of our healthy transformation! The meeting is at 6:30 on the 11th of October.I adore my Nutritionist, she conducts the meeting. I get so much good info. from Sally and this group. We also have a patient run support group in Warrenton that meets the last Thursday of the month. This is more informal, but I like it too. Again you are welcome to check it out if you would like. Just let me know.  McLean
