Constant burning sensation

Ugh, I feel like my insides have been on fire for the past several days.  I'm taking the Pepcid 2x daily and it feels like the heartburn goes straight from my throat to my new pouch.  When does this start to settle down?  I cannot stand eating tums...had to eat them non-stop throughout prenancies.

Good morning - I would call your doc's office and alert them to what you are experiencing. They will certainly be able to guide you best with regard to a possible meds change and may even be able to suggest other things to help you. I did experience some of this and I took/take Protonix which works wonderfully. You might ask if this is something that will work for you. It comes in pill and liquid form. Prayers coming your way for fast relief. Have a great day!

I agree with Kat.   Call and chat with the Dr.  Ulcer can cause the burning too and can be very dangerous.  Or you may just need a medication change.  Keep us updated.

Good Morning Ladies!  Thank you for the prompt responses.  At first I thought the pain/irritation was due to the stomach bug I had the last couple days but the burning keeps me up at night and I have completely lost the desire to eat.  I was going to call my doc at 9am but just wanted to see what the experienced losers had to say...wanted to make sure it wasn't something typical after surgery.  I'll let y'all know how it goes this afternoon.  Let's pray we receive some rain today!

This may be an ulcer so you received good advise  go o your doctor and get something to calm it down. It may even be a reaction to something you have eaten that completely disagrees with your pouch so you may want to write down what you had eaten before this happened so the doctor can see if there is anything there that could cause an irritation. Good luck Jackie

I called the doc and he called in a different stronger anti-acid medicine.  He said that if the burning doesn't go away in 3-4 days that I will have to do an upper gi and all that fun stuff.  He also put me back on liquids then if the burning goes away I can go back to soft foods.
