Confirmed 6mm Stricture...fun fun fun...

I had my EGD today and I did indeed have a stricture that was about 6mm in diameter...yikes!  No WONDER food came back and liquid was not happy.  So, the GI dilated with a 12mm and a 15mm balloon and cautioned that it was difficult and that I would likely have to have a re-dilation in the future...he did say that I should have at least a good 2 weeks of comfort...SHEESH!   I feel SO MUCH better with liquids though...nothing hurts going down and honestly...I am SO happy it was a stricture.  The thought crossed my mind that it might not be one and then I was worrying about if it wasn't... WHAT could it have been.  So, I am thankful to the Lord that this was JUST a stricture and that it is easily dealt with. Just a thought to all of you wonderful people...if your mind tells you that something just doesn't feel right... CALL your doc.  The GI said that I shouldn't have waited until liquids hurt...I actually thought it was normal until I started vomiting.

Wow, that was a big one! Glad you are feeling better. It's easy for someone else to second quess when you should go to the hospital but only you know how you feel and when it's time. Good Luck Pam

Morning Lisa - glad to hear you are feeling a lot better. Keep this experience fresh in your mind for a bit. I had 2 strictures in a pretty short amount of time. I'm HAPPY that you called the doc, got checked and are on your way to healing again. Take care....

Glad you have it all taken care of.  Hopefully if it comes back it won't be too bad.
