I get to pick my date tomorrow!!!

Although I'm a little nervous...well a lot nervous! They are also doing my arterial blood gas work tomorrow and I'm praying that they will numb my arm before hand....I'm fine with shots- but taking blood is another story....I like to pass out....especially when they are hunting for the vein or in this case artery... SOOO I need everyone to cross their fingers and toes and eyes and anything else that you can do that they will help me get through this!!  Now- what should I expect tomorrow at my appointment to pick my date? Will I see Dr. Northup? I wonder how soon the surgery will be? Man oh man am I nervous...excited....but NERVOUS!!

I'll say a prayer for you.  I don't have answers to your questions but just wanted you to know my cyber shoulders are here to lean on during this exciting time.  Can't wait to hear what happens tomorrow.

The blood gas is not that bad like a bee sting over in a second so dont worry or be nervous they had ne all worked up for nothing breath and count to 10 and it will be done. Best of luck and keep us updated. Your date will be within the month so dont be nervous. Be happy and we will be awaiting to here your date.

Lori you will do just fine.  Just remember to breathe :)  Let me know as soon as you are done.  You will see Dr. Northrup to pick your surgery date.  I would think you will have it before Thanksgiving....smile.

Ok, Hon, relax...Nobody has worse veins than I do...in surgery Wednesday, they couldn't go in my left arm so they missed 18 times in my right arm....now that arm is black, blue, yellow and red...not to mention very sore....worse than my shoulder...LOL.  My thoughts are with you, HOn.... Nevous is expected.  The arterial blood gas test really isn't bad at all.  I hate needles and was terrified but it wasn't bad at all.  They shouldn't have to hunt at all.  Will be thinking & praying about you.  I would think you would see your dr. and surgery should't be too far off.  Keep us updated.
