Autumn the Grouch?
Egad! I'm so sorry it's not smoothing out for you! Not getting any good advice from the doctor about food tolerances and what to try? Dr C was not in favor of fiber additives when I asked pre-op, but post-op Nancy told me to use stool softeners if I had a problem. Have you tried them?
Don't stay away Saturday if it's just that you're grouchy. We can take that just fine!
Here's another (((((((HUG))))))!
Aww thanks. Nancy did tell me to use the stool softeners I'm just so nauseaous right now I can't imagine adding another pill. One day I can handle a certain food then the next day I completely dump on it. I still vomit at least 2-10 times a day even with the nausea pill. Nancy said that if by my 2mo appt I am not holding things down I have to get the work up. I had severe nausea for months after my hysterectomy so we are wondering if my body has some aversion to the sedation used during surgery? I honestly tried to do as you told me to Rickie (Consider the protein our medicine) but I just can't hold it down. See why I'm grouchy?
There's a big difference between what you're experiencing and just not liking what you're supposed to eat or drink! I feel so bad that you're having such a different experience than I did. Even my problem with the anesthesia was nothing compared to what you're going through. I hate that you have to wait another month before they'll investigate further!
Still, I can't wait to see you even if you're red and fuzzy like Oscar!
Autumn-
I can certainly feel your pain regarding the moodiness. It does get better!! I was such a rollercoaster of emotions during the first month or two. It's certainly the horomones and the extra estrogen your body is dealing with. If you feel like it, you can read about my rollercoaster in my August/Sept. 06 blog! Yikes!
As for the
issue...I've ususally had the opposite problem, so I can't help much there!

Yep..your blog is very similar to how I feel right now. I called this morning and the medical assistant talked to me for 30mins telling me how normal it is to go through this and really comforted me. Gave me some meds to help out. Kids are going to grammy's for the weekend so that will give me a nice quiet weekend and a chance to enjoy a date with hubby.
Good am Autumn - I hope you are in better spirits today!!! I would certainly revisit with your docs all the throwing up you are doing. I say this because of the possibility of a stricture. I had 2 of them and it caused quite a bit of vomiting and nausea because things were not staying down. Also, our bowels getting backed up can make us nauseous and vomit as well. I would suggest that you monitor how you are feeling when you are eating and drinking. Should it come to the point where you cannot get even fluids to stay down PLEASE call your doc. It can get that bad and we can become dehydrated quickly. I hope you surely get to feeling better and enjoy your day/weekend!

Okay so the hormone thing is definitely surgery related. First of all the anesthia causes moodiness, second those fat cells we have/had horde the hormones. As we lose those fat cells & they break up all of those hormones are released into our bodies. Welcome mood swings & emotional rollercoaster. I found that when I was in a slow loss period & my body was shifting & losing inches that was when mine was the worst. It does get better. Just keep pushing through and give hubby a big hug for understanding and being patient.
As Kat said, watch out for signs of a stricture. As for the toilet issues, stool softeners, extra vitamin C, a good cup of Joe, more fiberous foods, suppositories, milk of mag. etc are all good suggestions. Keep trying to get something to work. One thing to consider if you can't get anything to help out is the possiblity of a blockage. Will be thinking and praying for you.
